Tie - I got to agree with you on NI1. Something isn't right. I would NEVER waste one of my supervisors days on someone who is under-allowed. If it is a 9.5 problem than work it out with the driver. Why in the hell would you want to piss off a driver who is under-allowed?? Absolutely does not make any sense????!!
UpsLifer, I just wish that more management had the same common sense that you have.
They don't worry about pissing off drivers. In fact I sometimes think that is the goal.
Also, he said that management "tightened" up the area and took stops off of him. With the low amount of delivery stops that are out there today, how do you do this without it being obvious? .
They don't care if it is obvious, drivers notice it when it happens but it doesn't change anything
... Not sure we are getting the whole picture on this.
It looks to be pretty much the whole picture to me, it's been the same picture painted in our center.

UPS wants to pays its SUPS. for three days or 700 hundred dollars to get an extra .2 or .3 SPOHR from its drivers who are actually MAKING the SPOHR and MONEY.
Why do they go through something that can't be enforced. It can't be enforced. I've never seen or heard of a driver being fired for production. Its just not going to happen. Why committ the man power at 700 dollars every 3 days for nothing in return..question mark..

Trying to keep the grammer police in check!... Sorry guys tired and sleepy if someone else caught this im sorry...only read to page 2, jus thought is was funny when i saw it!My very first center manager gave me a catch-phrase that I use to this date:
Safely Aggresive
When he first said this, I had no clue what he was talking about. Now I do.
Heff, 5 mph is not going to make any difference in re: to controlling the vehicle and will only reward you with a tailgater. They put those signs on the side of the road for a reason and then put cops on the side of the road for another reason.
I am by no means advocating speeding--I do advocate driving at or very near the speed limit (within 2 mph at most).
BTW, I have drive through CT enough times to know that you are definitely in the minority.
So, you run over allowed, your sup rides with you, tells you that you are driving too slow, and you refuse to listen. Where I'm at, you're gone, failure to follow methods plus failure to work as directed. You are not paid to think, you are paid to give a fair days work for a fair days pay, and it's obvious on this methods ride you decided to try to find ways to slow down to justify you piss poor performance. Guess what? We pay you the high wages to perform at a high rate of speed. Don't like it? Be a man and quit, instead of stealing a paycheck from the company.
Trouble with this is, they love when people say stuff like this. It's like they thrive on pissing people off. Why can't we all just get along? You my friend are "mentally constipated". People like you with your stinkin thinkin are the reason good hard working people struggle to show up for work. Don't be surprised when somebody goes postal on your !!
SUPERSUP says we are not paid to think.....WHAT a joke!!!! Still laughing here at that oneYou my friend are "mentally constipated". People like you with your stinkin thinkin are the reason good hard working people struggle to show up for work. Don't be surprised when somebody goes postal on your !!
First of all, I am not your friend.
Yes, I am doing a good job and they know it. I filled for 9.5 and the following week I am getting this so called 3 day ride to find fault on my end. Well guess what, they did not find any and I am going to get paid. Its a free country believe it or not, I could care less. Facts wont change...

Have seen a lot of supersups in my career. The REAL supersups earn the respect. The others just disappear and rightfully so. Not disputing some of the points, they may be justified, then again not. To make a statement: You are not paid to think. That is the most asinine remark. Using methods is noting but using best practices and thinking them through.
I have seen it time and time again.... supervisors who think they are better than the people they supervise will get bit by KARMA.
As far as any OJS goes... if you get on the car to get a driver it will bite you in the arse at some point. INTENT - INTENT ! Get on the car to help the driver improve their technique and their methods and everyone wins. This is the RIGHT INTENT!
Just trying to help the young sups out there not screw up. I had to learn the hard way.... hope you don't have to!
I always reply, you have your pace (frantic, gonna hurt yourself one day), and I have mine (live to see another day, retire and be able to bend over and pick up my grandkids.)Got followed for about 3 stops today. Now they are grasping at straws to find what to blame my poor time study and modified 3 day over allowed on. I was told that I was walking too slow and I need to pick up the pace.

The work pace is 3 feet a second. This is an average pace. If you have a shorter stride you may have to move a little quicker. If you are taller and have a long stride it may appear that you are walking slowly.
Just maintain 3 ft a sec. and you will be ok!
I guess I need to clarify what I mean. My pace is brisk, not frantic. I do a great job, and no one is going to try to step on my heels to get me moving as fast as "they" want. Since I'm on a tear, I may as well continue my rant by stating that I am not going to start picking through the load either.I always reply, you have your pace (frantic, gonna hurt yourself one day), and I have mine (live to see another day, retire and be able to bend over and pick up my grandkids.)
