Amazon Switching From Us To Fed-EX With 9 Days Left

The point was about delays which are not UPS fault. Whether UPS should have created Surepost is another issue and debateable as to whether UPS would have kept that work otherwise. FedEx already had Smartpost and Surepost copied that.
True..I think seeing all of these large bags and large pkgs going to each of the post offices. .especially in the last month has opened a few eyes and hopefully will give the union something to go after next year...like I have said I know we have to run a service like this but as many on here have seen with their own eyes, it's being abused

Why not? The average customer is ignorant enough and naive enough to believe it.

Hello? Is this Jonathan Gruber speaking????:laughing2:

I did hear that Amazon was shutting down the Surepost option on Friday. No more shipments of Surepost to the Post Office. Everything delivered by UPS or FedEx only. Beware! The Shlt winds are coming at Gale Force next week.

Nope. The blame is on the customer who wants the cheapest shipping possible even though it is slower. .

I would be right with you there, but too many places anymore don't leave this decision to you. There should be a Sure/Smart - Ground - Air options. But a lot of "Free Shipping" you don't know how it ships and they don't have a Ground option over-ride just an Air.

Why would they go to an inferior service?

Why do people shop at wally world? Sadly, regardless of the consequences, it's all about the bottom line.

I gotta wonder if this rumor is somewhat true, though, because the last two days have been extremely light for this time of year. In fact, I punched out on time today, at ~8:30 - for the first time since early October.

If this rumor is true, I suspect it would be to insure that our ground packages are cleared out and delivered so they can hammer us with air next week - which starts at 10 pm on Sunday :(

Everything I ordered this year for Christmas was through Amazon. I know, you're welcome! :) LOL! Seriously, most of them came via the USPS. I think my UPS guy only delivered a couple of the early ones that came the 1st week of December. Most of mine were of the small variety and I selected the Free Prime shipping but no-rush so I would get the $1 off digital orders so they would fit the SurePost criteria. Last year during peak we had U-Hauls filled to the brim with SurePost going to a single post office each. I'm sure it's the same this year. Not sure if UPS is allowed to send boxes over the weight and size limit through the USPS during the Holiday period but if there's a loophole you can bet your britches that UPS will use it.
