The fact about Amazon is that it creates many new UPS routes running all of this resi volume. The goal for now for us (UPS Drivers) is to take the jobs and money and be thankful that the growth of Amazon outpaces anyone's capability to deliver all of that volume by themselves. At some point, Amazon will stab all of us in the back, but my goal is to have enough seniority by then that even cutting half the routes (as USPS mentioned) will not impact my job.
Last point: Remember, none of us had any decision on the impact of Amazon at UPS. UPS (FedEx) management did nothing but cater to Amazon during their hyper growth and now have to deal with the ramifications of that.
