Sometimes, some people just want to call racist on the leader. Whoever goes to the lead in the polls (which sometimes is only 100 people's opinions) gets called names, is a wasted individual, doesn't know :censored2: from shineola, is stupid. Well, it turns out the most racist is the person calling everyone else racist.

Putting down every other candidate is not going to improve the loser president's record. Now, at least he has one and it isn't good and he has to run on it and answer questions about it without his teleprompter.. Don't say the unemployment rate got better.......people just quit looking for work and like UPS, there are a gazillion seasonal hires in the country. See what the next few months bring. One month doesn't make a trend.

Are you all shocked by the newt?? Did we forget his "radical ideas" he imposed on the country in the 1990s as "speaker" of the House??And what happened, his policies were rejected by the american people and eventually he had to leave office due to a scandal. The man just wont go away and stay away. He is just like herpes- he keeps coming back!!

There is clearly no racism in any of these videos. Poor choice of words--yes---but no racism.

I agree there was clearly a poor choice of words, but find it hard to argue with his basic premiss. We have to recognize that in the very poorest of neighborhoods there is not a lot of people working, that's why they are in the poorest neighborhoods which can and often does include all races. There are indeed poor white families as well as minorities that have generations that have not had jobs they go to on a regular bases. How does a young person learn to work, be responsible to themselves and an employer without a starting point? When I was in jr. and sr. high school there was a program where kids from lower income families could work for the schools and be payed a wage. No, they couldn't live on that wage, but they could help with at least part of the family or personal expenses. Along with that, they learned when you have a job you have responsibilities and what it means to uphold them, something they had no other venue for that experience. The child labor laws prevent this from happening. I do understand that NO child labor laws open up a Pandora's box of possible abuse.

Not really shocked, never trusted him much but was hoping that he was a changed man and truly the conservative he represents himself to be. Just goes to show that one doesn't always get what they hope for. But then I have a hard time trusting any politician.

Newt-Onian Foreign Policy

Newt Gingrich’s foreign policy views are a combination of wild, irresponsible, and aggressive warmongering, extraordinary naivete about the nature of government, and juvenile hero worship. One only needs to read his September 7, 2006 Wall Street Journal article entitled "Lincoln and Bush" to see the truth in this statement.
First, Congress should declare that we are in World War III, says Gingrich. This in turn will require a "dramatically larger budget." And what should be done with this dramatically larger budget? According to Gingrich, the U.S. military should invade Lebanon with the purpose of "disarming Hezbollah." This would effectively commence another war with Syria, says Gingrich, as it would be "the first direct defeat of Syria," which supposedly pulls the strings of Hezbollah. It would also be an assault on Iran, says the former House speaker, and would therefore be an act of war against that country as well.
Next, full-scale warfare should be waged against North Korea, Iran and Syria with the objective of "replacing the repressive dictatorships" in those countries. All of this would somehow serve in "restoring American prestige in the region," says Gingrich. Yes, murdering hundreds of thousands of Iranians, Syrians, and Lebanese, and destroying their cities and their infrastructure of civilization, which is what war does, would surely lead the people of those countries to think of Americans as "prestigious."
Gingrich seems vaguely aware that war always causes an explosion of governmental powers and a corresponding destruction of liberty and prosperity at home. Thus, he makes the case for magically transforming the Pentagon into a paragon of efficiency. He sounds a lot like an early twentieth-century communist preaching the praises of "scientific socialism." "Clear metrics of achievement" should be implemented, as though the usual politics would not prohibit such a thing, as it has for hundreds of years in all societies. The Pentagon must be made more "business-like," an oxymoron if ever there was one.
The domestic police state should also be expanded exponentially, said Gingrich, as long as the Fatherland Security Bureaucracy is also run in a super-efficient manner, with "metrics-based performance" measurements. He does have his business school lingo down cold.

Sounds to me like Newt is thinking of changing the scale of gov't with his well proven ideal of limited state. Speaks much also about his supporters and where their principles lay as regards to large scale statism but then irrational fear built with political boogie men always works!

Voters capable of rational thought and principled ideals will change society for the better when they outnumber the fear driven automatons who cry "Anybody But" with the thought of "Nobody But!"

To rail against child labor laws. Can you believe a major candidate is saying such things? Not promoting job training or Junior Achievement, but having corporations taking a major role in raising kids? Can you imagine kids being bussed to "work farms" for their "education" not to mention corporate profits? May have been a poor choice of words, but there is something draconian about the proposal as well.

There are more poor White people than poor Black people in the USA.

I mowed lawns from the time I was 10 until 14 when I got a job as a bag boy at a grocery store and worked my way up to butcher before I left for college. My family was poor since both parents were blind and they would not accept help from the National government. Both my parents worked for $0.35/hour when the minimum wage was $1.80. I know being poor and discrimination against blind people first hand. Sighted people including Black people made the minimum wage doing the same job.

Yeah. Race has nothing to do with it. Newt can turn a profit off the blood, sweat, and tears of kids no matter what their race. Bravo Newt! And all under the guise of "educating" them.

Some times people change. I'm not saying Newt, but I was raised in a Democrat household. I voted Democrat.......I lobbied in Columbus with my union against any child labor.
Now, that I've regained my senses, I vote repuplican. I'm conservative. I think the ACLU sucks. PETA sucks. Obama sucks, etc, etc,

I think the same when "flip-flop" is used. People change sometimes. I believed one way and now believe differently.

Kids are brought up saying prayers to Jesus...............then they go to college and become atheists.....they change and we don't call that flip-flopping.

As long as the two houses of Congress are controlled by Repubs, it could very well be better to keep Obama in there rather than have the Presidency and both Houses of the same party.
I thought the "ALL" Repub rules was very disastrous and wasteful but it was nothing like the two years of the Demos in the same position.

I tend to agree that Gingrich as a Democratic Socialist in the same vein as GW Bush. I just wish we had a candidate that would actually cut back National government spending and reduce the size of the government.
Ron Paul and Herman were the two most likely in the current field and now Herman is in suspension.

Maybe some of the trust fund kids can mop floors and clean bathrooms too? Nah, only Black kids do that kind of stuff. That way, they won't all grow up to be pimps and prostitutes. Racist? Race-baiting? Nah. Maybe if Newt, Rush, and Glenn had been forced to do it, they'd have more respect for the working class. Newt's comments revealed exactly what a race-baiting, elitist snob he is, and you Rghties eat it up.

You need to explain this one wkmac ... this gobbledegook was like reading MFE.

What specifically from the article at the link are you speaking of? If it's gobbledegook in your opinion, then it's gobbledegook, I've no problem with that.

The first piece on Newt. I see his point but no relevancy ... Newt can be petulant with the media. Sort of a weird site ... I just had the feeling that there was a piece somewhere you wanted us to read but not the first one that came up.
