Congrats, first child, expect to be there a while. My first child was 23 hours of fun. I brought a BIG thermos of coffee, snacks, at the time a digital music player now called an iPod. Expect to do a lot of hand holding, getting yelled at and a lot of rubbing of sciatic nerve and other various body parts.
Second child easier, labor was 1 hour and I was back home and asleep within 3 hours of taking her to the hospital, baby was born at 1am
