True, tourist traps already have a high tax rate, would probably go to 50%
We need something different for sure. I don't know if it can be fixed. If you take away things like mortgage interest and 401k deductions. Do you hurt the economy and the ability for people to save for retirement?

Whoever does what has to be done. Will be a hated man/woman.
I think the 401k deduction could stay. That happens during payroll. I think the mortgage intrest write off should go.
What about the child tax credit? Student loan interest? Capital losses?

Capital losses would be a large loophole but you have to give people a reason to start businesses.
Maybe something like only 2 out of every 5 years.
