Fedex doesn't work on Friday due to it being the 4th of July. It's the day the USA celebrates its independence from the British empire. Usually on the 4th, one can expect to see Fireworks show, Baseball games and having BBQ. Some Americans, on a budget, may choose to have the bare minimum fixings at the dinner table. But with all the overtime I see coming our way some can use that extra cash to have a Nice BBQ. Enjoy yours, even if you do have to work that day.
