Whelan is also a civilian. Not a marine in the middle of a battlefield. And it appears that he might have been wrongfully convicted. Griner’s conviction carries no such doubt.

And as soon as you posted the Twitter reference that said that Putin made the offer, Whalen or Griner, I said that they were equal trade bait.

One can be a civilian former marine who’s served their country and is more worthy of being returned home than a basketball player with a legit drug conviction if the opportunity to return one or the other is available.

Why didn't trump have him released? Why are you only raging about it after a black woman was released? Does Griner really deserve to be locked up because she had a vape?

And if you're Russia who committed the worst crime against your country? The guy convicted of spying on your government or the girl convicted of having trace amounts of THC oil?

Neither one deserves to be locked in a Russian prison. The US government negotiated a deal to get one of them home and is working on getting the other one home too.

Also Whelan has Canadian, American, Irish and British citizenship. Why doesn't Canada negotiate his release?

And Whelan's own family agrees with the US Government's decision to bring Griner home.
