You may be able to have your Cuban cigars on board, but don't try to bring them home. They have the dogs sniff your baggage the night before and you'll be caught!!

Not sure about that. I brought back 3 cartons of cigs for $20 a carton. And plenty of booze.

I've brought many Cuban cigars home just by just putting them in my check-in bags I even forgot one time and had them in my carry on bag.:surprised:

They usually have smoking on certain parts of the outside decks, and you can also enjoy your illegal Cuban cigars in certain bars.

Yeah...and that is why you get a balcony, that's where I've enjoyed a nice Cuban cigar on many occasions!:happy2:

HMMMM. I might have to try the balcony thing a ma jig with a willing partner. That seems sorta wild and crazy, like doing it in a golf cart on the 17th green at midnight..................

Or in a flat top UPS Ford Econoline going down the Hwy. at 60 mph at night heading to North Dakota.:happy2: Oh the wife and I had fun back in the old days:salute:

On our cruise. they warned and warned and warned us about the cuban cigars.....they said do not try to take any home with you!! I didn't want to go to prison.

See all that schooling by nuns makes me a big chicken!:knockedout:

I said CUBAN CIGARS, Klein !! Clean your glasses !!

Considering, only 1 carton of cigs are allowed, and only 1 bottle of booze.
I took tripple that amount with me back to Ft Lauderdale.

But, yes, always a small risk.

Didn't see any dogs.
Actually , very little security, compared to an airport.
Just 3 customs officers.

Not even a cop.

And if anyone wants a cuban cigar, I can ship them there.
They are legal here.

It has more to do with american politics. Not Cuban ones.
(which I can see Obama finally ending that embargo in his term).

On Carnival smoking is allowed on one side of the ship on the decks(I forget which side but there are signs. Inside smoking is allowed in the Casino Bar, the casino, Cigar bar and a couple of others( I think it varies on different ships). Inside cigar smoking is limited to the cigar bar and cabins. Again some of this varies.

You may also go overboard and smoke in the ocean LOL

Just kidding, but no problem for smokers on a cruise ship. Esspecailly those with balconys.
And most decks will allow you to smoke.

As a non-smoker, I very much appreciated that Carnival restricts smoking in most public areas. That casino definitely gets pretty smoky at night though.

When we took a cruise, it was Carnival and we had to pack our bags the night before disembarking and just hold back what we needed for morning. All of the passenger's bags were in an auditorium to be checked, sniffed or whatever. I thought losing our bags before getting ready in the AM. was extremely inconvenient to me. Don't know if they still do it that way or not.

My wife and I have always carried all our own stuff on and off the boat rather than letting Carnival do it (I think they call it "self-assist"). Never had a problem or been told we couldn't do it that way.

No matter what, you still need to go thru US customs upon return.
You can either lie, like me, and take several cartons of cigs and several bottles of booze, and say you only have 1 of each.

Or you can be honest, and just take one of each.

(3 per couple if opened).

Usually customes just let you thru.

May as well lie. I always do when I go fishing in Canada:wink2:

Oil to oil county.

my flight actually, thru Continental (based in Texas).

I guess we have less in common then Texans, or Texicans ,I think.
What a mistake this airline made !

btw: I'll be in Houston for a 93 min stop-over each way.
Wanna check out a new airline and route.
