$18 Big Macs and $20 minimum wage, Gavinomics here we come
Gavinomics, brought to the citizens of California by their governor, means $18 Big Macs and $20 minimum wage. And it doesn't stop there. The state also has a $68-billion deficit.
Watch out, he snuck out of the corner bar.
I think he had too much to drink
Did you ever come up with a number yet on what you think the minimum wage worker in California should be paid to be able to be free of any kind of welfare? Do you think $20/hr is the magic number? What about $25 or $30? Do you have any clue what it costs to live in California? So what in your eyes is the "level where the state of California is no longer being burdened with having to subsidize low wage jobs with publicly funded social welfare program benefits."Once again it is all income based. Now what do you think the income levels should be set at in order for a family's income to be considered too high to qualify for wage subsidies in the form of California's low income assistance programs?
Minimum wage let’s make it $200 an hour!!!! that should fix everything!Did you ever come up with a number yet on what you think the minimum wage worker in California should be paid to be able to be free of any kind of welfare? Liberals in la-la land: High wages, 32-hour workweeks sound great, but there's a steep price
It's no surprise that even before California's new minimum wage became reality, restaurants started planning layoffs.www.usatoday.com

California’s new $20-an-hour fast food minimum wage is so good that schools are worried they can’t compete for cafeteria workers
Last year, the Sacramento Unified School District — anticipating the law's passage — agreed to a 10% increase for its food service workers and other low-paying jobs.fortune.com
Pricing all the people in California with big money will leave and I'll be stuck with a bunch of illegal immigrants and minimum wage jobsCalifornia still hasn’t learned that whenever you pass a law, you have to take into account the consequences.
It's a simple as this. The US federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour and has been at that level for the past 15 years. Now can you live on $7.25 an hour? If you can't then why do you expect somebody else to live in it?Did you ever come up with a number yet on what you think the minimum wage worker in California should be paid to be able to be free of any kind of welfare? Or, we could eliminate the minimum wage altogether, and let the local market determine how much your labor is worth. How else to take advantage of the illegal immigrants? Got to keep inflation under control somehow! It's a simple as this. The US federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour and has been at that level for the past 15 years. Now can you live on $7.25 an hour? A UPS driver now makes more than $40 an hour to pick a box off a truck shelf and put on the porch. Now how come that is not considered by some to be excessive?
The most important fact is that there's not a single task being performed by the people who will now be paid $20 an hour that you can't do yourself.....So tell me....why aren't you doing it yourself?
If we had done that during your working lifetime how much do you think you would have been paid delivering letters and jewelry boxes for Fat Freddy?Or, we could eliminate the minimum wage altogether, and let the local market determine how much your labor is worth. Nobody would do the FedEx job for $10 hr when they can go down the street and get similar pay for less effort. The market determines the pay. As long as FedEx can find people in an area willing to do the work for $17hr then that's what they'll pay. UPS gets that $40 hr because they're unionized and their management can't ship those jobs overseas. Most people don't have that bargaining chip. They take what they can get and if you eat at fast food places regular you'll notice a lot of turnover. A lot of fast food workers are always looking for something better. And quite a few are on the flaky side and don't last long at any job.If we had done that during your working lifetime how much do you think you would have been paid delivering letters and jewelry boxes for Fat Freddy?
Yep, there hasn’t been one time in my life that I made minimum wage. None of my kids have made minimum wage. Because I started at the minimum wage of $3.25/hr in high school and acquired a couple skills that would allow me not to be stuck in a minimum wage job the rest of my life. Paying a $20/hr minimum wage for entry level jobs in the vast majority of California is not going to be getting anyone off the government programs. You are one delusional poster. It would blow your little panties off your bare ass if you knew how much it took to live in parts of CA and be free of government assistance. This ain't the backwoods, corn cob pipe smoking area that you live in, where $20/hr is living high on the hog.So tell me....why aren't you doing it yourself?
