Rat out of a cage
San Francisco 49ers playing in Arizona as for home games....What's next? Will we be outsourcing all sports because sunny California outdoor sports with NO fans is too dangerous? What a joke Kali-unicornia politics has become.....again. So sad.

As the rest of us are now enjoying a brand new lock-down starting today in the "region" of Southern California and most of the state.

No socially distanced, mask wearing outdoor dining. :sad-little:
Hmmmm ... we can do anything now we did a year ago.

I am so glad I live in Georgia!

We have been on almost total lock down AGAIN for 2 weeks. No Bars no restaurants no TP - etc. Two more weeks to go then they will determine if things can open up again. This is getting REAL old. You can have 500 people rubbing against each other at Walmart and Costco but poor mom and pop can't have a dozen people in their bar or cafe.

Exclusive: Suspected Chinese spy targeted California politicians

A suspected Chinese intelligence operative developed extensive ties with local and national politicians, including a U.S. congressman, in what U.S. officials believe was a political intelligence operation run by China’s main civilian spy agency between 2011 and 2015, Axios found in a yearlong investigation.

The woman at the center of the operation, a Chinese national named Fang Fang or Christine Fang, targeted up-and-coming local politicians in the Bay Area and across the country who had the potential to make it big on the national stage.
Fang took part in fundraising activity for Swalwell’s 2014 re-election campaign, according to a Bay Area political operative and a current U.S. intelligence official. Swalwell’s office was directly aware of these activities on its behalf, the political operative said. That same political operative, who witnessed Fang fundraising on Swalwell's behalf, found no evidence of illegal contributions.

The case demonstrates China’s strategy of cultivating relationships that may take years or even decades to bear fruit. The Chinese Communist Party knows that today’s mayors and city council members are tomorrow’s governors and members of Congress.

  • Silicon Valley is also the world’s most important center for the technology industry, making it a hotbed for Chinese economic espionage. Russian intelligence has also long targeted the Bay Area.
  • California's economy is the largest of all the U.S. states, giving California state lawmakers significant influence over national trends.

Companies part of group founded by CA governor collectively get nearly $3 million in PPP loans, data shows

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- At least eight companies partially owned by Gov. Gavin Newsom collectively received millions of dollars from the Paycheck Protection Program, according to an ABC7 analysis.

While data released by the Small Business Administration earlier this year showed the PlumpJack Group received up to $350,000 worth of PPP loans, newly-released data by the SBA indicated PlumpJack businesses - including wineries, bars, and restaurants - received more than eight times that amount at nearly $3 million altogether.

How it all went so wrong for Gavin Newsom

"I made a bad mistake," Newsom told reporters shortly after the incident came to light. "I should have stood up and ... drove back to my house. The spirit of what I'm preaching all the time was contradicted. I need to preach and practice, not just preach."

Yup!

Newsom hasn't been able to put the episode behind him. And despite the early success in California of mitigating the virus, the state's situation has worsened in recent weeks -- forcing Newsom to reinstitute stay-at-home orders for much of the population.

And now comes news that an effort to recall Newsom next year is picking up speed -- and supporters. This, from The Associated Press, is worrisome for Newsom:

"Recall organizers say they have collected more than half the nearly 1.5 million petition signatures needed to place the recall on the ballot, and they have until mid-March to hit the required threshold."

Coincidentally, we mailed our recall petition today.

Fred's Myth

Nonhyphenated American

Another win for common sense, in California.
One person (the Sheriff) out of the majority of the population, is a very feeble win for common sense, in that Superior Court judges are elected.

We need the Border Patrol to surround California and keep the idiots from spreading to the rest of the country.
