If you were just trying to get by until you got a full-time, or were in school, maybe restaurants, bars, and pizza delivery? You could take a short class and get a nursing assistant job (good for healthcare experience and a lot out there but it sucks.) Lots of people make a decent living at UPS but it takes a loooong time.

If you want to be the proverbial ups driver find out from your union steward where youd stand in the line going full time. Theres a new contract coming up(allegedly) that states ups will create 20,000 during the life of the agreement full time jobs. 500 in the Second year of the contract and 1500 In each of the last three years of the contract. Ask around, there’s a lot of centers that people rather not go full time.
