Most people who are 40 years old or younger. Yes 100k a year isn't that good. Unless you bought a house in the 70's or 80's chances are your rent/mortgage is 2500 or more.

That's probably what your monthly bills are. You are lucky to be a baby boomer.

I sold my 2 bed 2 bath townhouse for 515k 2 years ago in so cal and transferred out of state.
