Day.”

Even the left-leaning New York Times complained, with Deputy Washington Editor Jonathan Weisman comparing Warren to the media-averse President Trump.

More importantly, Warren’s avoidance has always suggested an inability to deal with the pushback and vetting she’d face if she runs for president, and will likely be a problem in her 2018 re-election battle. It highlights a general unease, away from her Senate committee safe-space where she can make the headlines she prefers hitting nominees with hard questions, instead of answering them.

“We’d like to see our leaders re-examine their priorities, put this at the forefront — if we have to, we’ll knock on some doors in D.C.,” said John MacDonald of Veterans Assisting Veterans. “We need to take care of veterans first before we decide to take care of people who are illegally here.”
