Mr. 7

The monkey on the left.
There is actually quite a story behind the pooch. A challenge was offered to all employees to develop an icon that would represent the Home Delivery product. Many entries were submitted from every corner of the North American service area. The winning logo came from the Trenton, New Jersey World Service Center.

The selectors were unaware of the story that followed. The dog logo is actually based on Sadie, a stray dog that would visit and greet the employees each day for years. Everybody loved Sadie. Sadie would ride the Home Delivery truck of one of the drivers, who was also the winning logo entrant. Sadie had a knack for comforting people. She got to know regular customers and eventually would, as the logo depicts, carry small packages to awaiting customers. As a side note, regular Home Delivery customers are generally sick and elderly people who are receiving medical shipments. It is said that Sadie's love has lifted the spirits of and actually helped dozens of people who are sick and dying.

Unfortunately, Sadie was lost in an accident where she ran under a moving truck. The ripple effect was devastating to those who knew her. Many of her customers were negatively affected and some have passed on. Sadie is remembered with a small plaque and monument in her adopted home of Dunns Mills, NJ.
