I am no fan of FedEx, but if this woman was unsafely passing, it was HER fault, period. Not FedEx's. Doesn't matter what Fedex encourages, the decision to drive unsafely is ultimately up to the driver. WE are the professional drivers.
This with the emphasis on "if".
For all we know, she could have been passing using a passing lane intended for her direction of travel and the oncoming traffic was in her lane. But I didn't read in the article or see in the video that she was in the oncoming traffic's lane, so none of us know for sure. I don't know this particular highway or whether or not they add passing lanes for long inclines.
If she was indeed attempting to pass cars uphill in the oncoming traffic lane, then it was absolutely a poor decision on her part and preventable. Sad case, either way. Hope she heals quickly.
