Yup, because Americans love voting for debt. It’s their right to have all those free gibs. Just like van says, he is entitled to a retirement after working his entire life. A lot of Americans feel entitled to the doctor or entitled to college. “We are the richest nation and it should be a right”
Wrong.

It is, but that's what we have. Go third party and you elect the opposition.
And?
Republican politicians need to be sent a message that their voters aren't stupid enough to keep voting for people who lie about caring about the debt. Or maybe they are that stupid....

“Recently, we have been hearing more and more people suggest that maybe younger Americans should give up the thought of receiving anything from Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. Folks have suggested they would still be willing to pay into those systems to protect our current seniors and to save our country for our children and grandchildren.

This is the real spirit of the Tea Party. We can look out for ourselves and for each other. We don't need or want the government to do it for us. We have seen where the "big government" approach takes us: impossible promises and a future mortgaged beyond the lifetimes of our children's children.

Doing the right thing isn't always easy, but it's always right. The real solution is fiscal discipline and entitlement reform.”
Tea Party on Social Security

Imagine being such a boomer you try to convince kids it’s the right thing to continue giving your money and then not expect your back out of the system. Like no you dumb :censored2:, end it as soon as possible. Send these early retirees back to work.

Waaah socialism is bad but let’s support this one last generation of boomers and then end it.

That’s the electable position for republicans, even far right. Saying the right thing and denying people government sanctioned theft will end with you not in office.

And yet the SSA is saying things can go on as is until about 2080 if I remember right, although if things aren't addressed it'll mean a reduction of promised benefits of about 22% around 2032. At that point it would strictly be the employees contributions plus the employers match paying into the system. And as I've been pointing out if automation does greatly reduce the workforce not only will there be less employees putting into the SS system but there will be millions of unemployed needing assistance. So some kind of solution needs to happen or we are going to have millions and millions of people starving. Is that the kind of world you want Wrong, stepping over the poor in the streets as you go about your way? They shouldn't have let tens of millions of illegals in with this coming at us. And just so you know I'm in the process of getting a driving job that will let me save my pension and then some. And get our house paid off to rent out if this automation scenario plays out. You talk as if your generation is the only one that works hard. Been working long before you were born and will continue to do so for as long as I hold up. But within ten years I will take my money and live where it's cheap. You guys think you're so smart but without SS you better have a huge pile of cash saved because the U.S. is too expensive otherwise.

If I wasn’t paying off your house to rent out and for your getaway voyages around the world to live in squalor. I’d have a better chance at surviving future circumstances. Instead I’m being robbed by senior citizens and I don’t like being robbed van.

Are you dense or something? I'm 57. Haven't collected a dime from SS yet.
