Got my first Propaganda in the mail today. I did notice it said the only way for 2nd class drivers to go above 25% is by creating 3 more full time RPCDs.
So the hourly guarantee for RPCDs "as long as work is available" will be heavily exploited. "Sorry, RPCD. Have to give the 22.4 his 40!". And there is a way to boost 22.4 above 25% of total drivers. Brilliant.
So where are all of these new Teamsters coming from? In my building when they DQ a new driver they offer them a job as an EAM driver. Then they run bulk or LIB's and misloads and work 12 hours at top driver rate. The old bait and switch.They boast it creates FT jobs for PTers. But most part timers don't want to drive. Heck, a good portion of our PTers in my building don't even drive/have a license.
And you trust the company to do as they PLEDGE.Most of the work the combination drivers will perform is currently being done by part-time employees getting part-time benefits at a reduced wage rate.
That means 22.4 will work inside more than they drive. I trust the mailer.
