There is no way that an infection should cause this kind of mayhem.

History will decide whether "an infection" caused the mayhem, and the history is currently being written.

My opinion, it will not be favorable to those that offered the models and denied the scholarly dissent once real data was available.

That's just my personal opinion, based on factual numbers and the reading of that data.

I can be patient, I have no doubt history will once again be rewritten however.

My opinion.

The point of the stay at home efforts was never to stop infections. It was to keep the medical system from becoming overwhelmed. That’s been accomplished. In fact, many of my friends in medical professions fear for their jobs right now due to how slow things are.

We can be smart about this and protect the elderly while letting younger folks go back to work, or everyone can continue to hide out in their homes and be in for a terrible winter because immunity still won’t be widespread.

That’s drama queen stuff. If you’re younger and healthy, chances are you’ll be just fine. Protect the vulnerable and elderly and get back to work with masks on and distancing in place.

Are you really worried about this thing getting worse or are you worried about it getting better? Trump wins re-election if our economy isn’t completely destroyed over the next few months? We’re only 2 months into stay at home and 36.5 million+ Americans are already unemployed. This is not the Bubonic Plague.
Don’t be stupid. This one kills the elderly. And the next one? Babies? Youth? Women in their 30’s.
You’re exactly the problematic individual in thinking that this ends. This isn’t even worse case scenario and you want things back to normal. Normal sucked and needs to be much better. And you can’t see that?

liberals love having an excuse to stay home and do nothing not to mention getting paid for it.

No. You’re living in history. Learn from it or repeat it.

or are you saying all was fine and doesn’t need to be fixed?
I think that humans are animals and we tend to not accept that and blow things out of proportion.
The COVID-19 pandemic is bad news but with reasonable precautions, we can continue as normal and the number of deaths will not double from a normal year.
Just my thoughts which I'm willing to adjust as time goes on.

No. I’m all for opening it all back up. If I have to work, put them all out there. And we probably won’t learn and there will be more spikes and more deaths and eventually maybe we’ll do something about it. As things stand, we won’t.

I am appalled at how poorly prepared the state level health emergency response plans and systems have been. I have no doubt that most states will be improving their plans accordingly in response to covid-19. A one-size-fits-all response handed down from a federal agency has not helped the situation.

People will not brook this nonsense year after year, or respiratory illness season after season. Even the go-along-to-get-along, apathetic crowd will start mobilizing once their bank accounts have been emptied.

What? LOL. We don't need to all hide inside our houses from this one. Yes, better prepare for future pandemic prevention and response. But this one isn't worth destroying ourselves over.

We do not have to choose between "everybody stay home" or "everyone go back to work" like CNN, MSNBC and hard leftists make it sound like we do. We protect who needs to be protected and do what we need to do to survive as a Country. And I'm sorry but we can get the economy running again while also protecting the elderly and vulnerable.

Nobody is going to seriously argue with building flaming moats with crocodiles and 50 foot high walls around retirement homes when we do.

Or in the Dem's leadership's view no walls on the border but high walls around their homes and gated communities. Do as I say, not as I do.

I don’t think it matters. If this one doesn’t convince people that they need to seriously revamp the healthcare system, maybe the next one will.
In the meantime, I’m out here. Rest can be too.

So let's destroy the economy and rebuild it to what you think it should be?

This proves the healthcare system is just fine and the government can take steps to fund crisis situations without becoming a complete failure of a socialist system like European countries proved to be.
