No. You don’t think $4 trillion to prop up a consumer driven economy is socialism?

Nope, only if the government takes control of industry. This is a case of absolutely insane, never gonna pay back, welfare statism indebtedness at its finest. I have given up any hope of ever getting the country out of debt. Doing so in a way that would not cause the destitution of millions of dependants would probably take generations. And there's no way we could eliminate deficit spending that long.

I think most fiscal conservatives have given up, so we are going to probably see a national debt in the quadrillions before too long, or, more likely, complete economic collapse.

So by this definition, Bernie is not a socialist and conservatives have been lying about him.

The fact that he honeymooned in communist Russia might be a tip off. If he's not a socialist what is he? Whatever he is his spending ideas would put us under.

I don't know Bernie Sanders' platform. Does he want the government to take over industry? I would say that anyone who favors a high degree of regulation is socialistic, since what is regulation aside from government control?

High degrees of spending on welfare programs is a separate issue, and has its own set of problems. Usually the promise of socialism is that everyone gets free stuff, welfare, since the government will, supposedly, profit off of industry. So, someone promising free stuff to gain votes could be a socialist, since that's what socialists do. In fact, Bernie describes himself as a democratic socialist, so is he lying?

Was the 4 trillion used to gain control of the means of production? Government has it's place in emergencies. But do they try to assist us in emergencies or do they seize the opportunity to control everything?

What socialists can't seem to grasp is while you can have social programs to help the needy if you have a strong economy, you can't for long have the social programs be the focus of a large government without a strong economy. Has never worked.

He's making it sound palatable, Is that like voting with a gun to your head? The russians do a lot of that. Putin wins with 98 percent of the vote.

You guys are hilarious. Over the top with the red scare drama. Bernie was pushing single-payer healthcare and a green infrastructure bill. I guess JFK was a rabid commie too:

Margaret Thatcher would be called a communist by today’s Republicans...and the NHS is actual socialized healthcare
