It doesn’t matter how the state kills people. If someone is genuinely afraid of government domination, then the state taking your life is by far the most serious threat to individual citizens, but the people who pretend to be afraid of government domination are in favor of the state killing U.S. citizens as much as it wants. This specific thread is about the federal death penalty. So my point stands if someone was really afraid of state domination, they’d be very skeptical of the stories agents of the state used to justify killing U.S citizens, they’d want those killings to be rare, they’d want agents of the state thoroughly investigated and punished for killing a U.S.citizen, etc. yet in the real world the people who pretend to care about government domination are perfectly ok with the state killing U.S. citizens.
I've seen plenty of evidence of wrongfully convicted people on death row. If it's proven that prosecutors railroaded a person, withheld evidence of innocence, etc, that prosecutor should face serious prison time. I agree 100% that the state has the obligation first and foremost to make certain that anyone who's accused of a capital crime is without a doubt the perpetrator. That standard should apply to all cases but especially where the convicted will be put to death.

not to mention the bible thumpers who are positively giddy over the death penalty
Yeah I guess people’s political beliefs are complex, but I think a lot of political discussion is people pretending. I don’t know why people who discuss politics waste so much time pretending to believe stuff, but it is a huge reason why political discussions frequently are a waste of time. We will get people who seem to “fear” government oppression which is a real thing that happens frequently, right governments oppress plenty of citizens around the world, but those same people are frequently the biggest supporters of state sanctioned violence and murder against U.S. citizens, and are frequently the most upset when other citizens want to prevent some of that state violence. Like of all the things to fear the government over, the government taking your life has to be the biggest fear, but again for most of them it doesn’t matter. It’s very bizarre. So all of their government oppression talk is bs. It’s meaningless. They are pretending.

Who cares? I don’t want to discuss your thoughts about why you are ok with the government killing people. My point is someone truly afraid of government domination would have serious fear and anger at the government killing u.s. citizens period. Because that’s the ultimate government control over one’s actual life and freedom, but the I fear government domination types support police killings, support the death penalty, support that same government locking up millions of u.s, citizens with zero over sight and zero concern. In fact they get upset with other citizens who want to limit governments power to kill you and take away your freedom. they aren’t afraid of the government at all. they pretend to fear government over taxes or business regulation but trust that same government to lock up and kill thousands or millions of u.s. citizens. It’s all fake bs.

It must be a terrible burden knowing what goes on in the minds of all your fellow citizens and how no one cares like you do. Damn man, run for office and share your gift with the world! Because you really, truly, absolutely, deeply care more than anyone else and have all the answers.

Guess what? People do commit horrible crimes. And many not so horrible. And get locked up to protect the rest of us. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. And if a man broke into a woman's house and raped and strangled her and there's sufficient evidence he did it I do hope the state puts him to death and doesn't waste millions on years of housing and legal appeals.
