Watched CBC News last night. 4 people were shot and killed in the greater Vancouver area.
Even though Authorieties at the border crossing seized a record amount of guns, a small percentage does make it thru.
All 4 deaths were related to illegal guns comming from the US.
Somehow, I do wish you folks could keep them. All of them. We don't need them, nor like them.

In the meantime the USA had record sales of guns this year.
Should make you all proud, since, (on most of your beliefs), makes your country now so much safer !

How does an inanimate object FORCE one of your countrymen to kill 4 others? What if it was an imported American knife and they were stabbed instead? What if it was an imported American car and the Canuck killed 4 people drinking and driving? (ok, I can see that happening)

Blaming America for a gun that a Canuck chose to use against his countrymen is like you blaming Canada for it`s beer that you chose to drink on the clock.

Hey, want me to be honest , like always ?
I didn't dare walking outside in the dark in Florida.
I did however had to do it twice, maybe 3 times (after 7pm), but I watched my shadow, making sure nobody was going to creep up on me.
Never forget that - watch your shadow ! That's atleast how I felt safe there.

Puerto Vallarta in the other hand, I walked all the way downtown after 2am (30 min walk).
When I seen all the store fronts being shut, but not having any security whatsoever (no window or door bars), I knew it was a safe little city to be in.
I ended up having a good time , off the main road, in a nice little fully mexican bar (no tourists, no english speaking people) with having 3 beers until 5am.
It's always kinda neat when you need to talk with your hands, or mix some German with English together, to order or say something, or listen to somebody.

Like , I said, I felt safer in Mexico then I ever had in Florida.
But, I still prefer Cuba. Loved that place !

Uh............maybe because in Florida they take strangers talking to their kids a little more seriously then in those other places?

You are absolutely right they would. But I would get my hand bloody stabbing you plus I would have to let you get close enough. With a gun I can kill you from much farther away. Faster, cleaner, more efficient.

Anyways, Greater Vancouver (population over 2.5 Million) jumped from 31 murders to now 35 for the year.

There's over 3 million just in my county!!

I gave you figures awhile back that per capita, Canada's violent crime rate is higher than the U.S. Crime is crime whether you use a gun or not.

This is the typical mindset of the typical gun owner. Human deaths mean nothing. People get killed and if they get killed with a gun its "cleaner, more efficient". I dont think gun owners who think like this out loud even know what they are saying half the time.

Gun owners are so trained and conditioned to accept death by guns, that they ignore the huge numbers of people killed in this country by guns. Ive heard every defender of guns say "that gun deaths are down, "there were only 82 thousand deaths this year and its down 2%."

Its dumb statements like this one, that suggest the gun owner cares less about human life.

On the other hand, those same gun owners will go the extra mile to prevent an abortion.

Take life freely with a gun, prevent the taking of life through an abortion.

On the other hand, in the US, you have many illegal citizens that can't or won't go to a police station to report a crime.
Other people don't report crimes of theft or internet theft, telemarketing thefts, etc because they feel ashamed.

So, therefor, Stats are just that - stats !
Come visit Canada one day... even Toronto (near DS) , Canada's largest city, population around 5 Million didn't hit the 40 murder number this year.
Then you'll see if you feel safer or less safer here.

As if ANY number of deaths is an acceptable level. Over the christmas holidays, there were shootings of family members all across this country. Gun deaths reigned over the holidays and gun owners look the other way and ignore the fact that guns were used NOT against intruders, atttackers, robbers, carkackers,rapists, kidnappers and such, but in simple cases of domestic violence.

With a gun I can kill you from much farther away. Faster, cleaner, more efficient.

This is exactly the mindset of a gun owner who wants to settle his domestic problems quickly.

The promotion of guns is a promotion for gun violence. Cowards use guns to settle domestic problems where a wife and children are killed, but the act started with the coward purchasing the gun in the first place to "defend" himself.

Yup, here is just 1 US family that got totally wiped out on Christmas Day by a gun.
