I was coming back from a center load one night about 2am and I was in a not so good part of town. I caught a red light under a freeway overpass where I was turning left. I had my window rolled down. Out of nowhere a guy jumped up on my fuel tank, hanging onto my mirror and standing on one of my steps. It scared the %&#@ out of me. He had been hiding behind one of the big concrete pillars. Luckily, he didn't point a gun at me, but just wanted some money to repair his car because it "needed a fuel pump and he was trying to get back home." By now, I'm rolling with the guy still hanging on my mirror bracket. I said not only was I not going to give him any money, but he needed to get off my tractor while the getting was good. The look in his eye was priceless when he realized I was speeding up, let alone stopping to let him off. About 3rd gear he jumped off. Luckily for him I was in the left hand lane of the feeder, and he had grass to land on. I kept my window rolled up in that stretch from then on. I figured if he *did* have a gun, he couldn't reach for it if he was hanging on for dear life.

Had a guy on my old route that used to hit me up once a week or so for a couple of bucks. He was straight up and told me he needed it for beer. He lived in the extended stay on my route and he never had enough money to satisfy his hunger for the mighty drink. He got a disability check that paid his room and board as well as food. He used to be a mover but finally tore up his back so badly and got so many hernias (showed me his stomach once...had more knots that a rack of tennis shoes). Christmas time came around and he waved me down one day and handed me a envelope. It was a Christmas card in it and it included $60 in gift cards to Cracker Barrel and wished me a Merry Christmas and was on his way. Never really saw him much after that and then I got bumped off the route so I'm not sure that he's still around. Funny...the 2nd biggest tip I got on my route that Christmas came from the alcoholic bum in the extended stay. The biggest tip came from the gay/fetish porn pickup. Yep, that route was never boring. PS...If you ever deliver packages that are secured with camouflage tape then I can tell you where it came from. LOL

You sir , are what we call a rat. You got lucky and got a job to put food on the table and have nice things and make over 80k easily with no college education needed. To go out of your way to rat to a cop about a guy who has nothing , buying a $2 beer ......you should be ashamed of yourself. There are guys in my center who cover route I run who miss pick ups, put pkgs in mailboxes, be rude to customers etc... Do I run and tell management? No. I go to them and let them know about the concerns and let them make dig there own grave. I'm not putting them into it. Hope you feel good about yourself

If the dude offered to share the weed with him that's one thing but the cat was trying to sell it to him. Granted I wouldn't have gone and told the cop but there is a difference.

Maybe the driver was just mad and being spiteful cause he gave the guy money and he spent it on booze (shocking lol)....but at the same time....the bum could've just as easily been tryin to sell those drugs to some kid.

I can't tell you how many times I've had some homeless guy making leery advances or sexual comments at me. I'll tell the guy where to go...I'm not easily offended....but I think, if he'd do it to me...he wouldn't hesitate to do it to someone's teenage daughter! The less people on the street hassling the public.....the better....JMO.

call me a rat or whatever u want! All i know is that the guy lied to me to get something that he wanted. How many others has he scammed?! If he had just told me that he wanted to buy a beer I would have probably given him the $2. Since he lied by making up a story, that pissed me off! I work hard for my money and just do not throw money away. I am privileged to be in the position that I am in now. I earned this job by working hard everyday. He was able bodied and could try to get a job, but he would rather beg and drink & smoke his days away. That is not my issue. A lot of people have been down on there luck, but they do not result to lie/cheat people out of there money because they are lazy! He deserved everything he got. Maybe he will think twice next time b4 he tries to steal from people trying to do a good deed! If it makes you feel better, I also gave him a place to stay, shower, hot meals, & some butt loving if he was lucky! Hope it hurt too!!!

Don't give out money....I don't anymore. I don't care if they want 2 bucks or 2 dimes.... Just point to the sign.....lol
