If I remember right in the Metro Detroit local 243 contract full timers have the right to bring a phone in and part timers do not.

"Cell phones are prohibited, unless registered with the Employer. No Driver will be denied the right to register a cell phone. Inside employees will not be permitted a cell phone."

I refused to use my phone for UPS business. They would always want you to call in to talk to them but nope. Send a DIAD message and if its important I will call when I can get to a phone.
