In Italy and the UK, $30/month would get you:

  • 1GB data
  • 1,200 minutes and 300 text messages
  • The average price for this in Canada is $70.70.

Looking for a package with a small amount of data in Germany? Winsim offers 3GB and unlimited talk and text for just $13.69.

Speak out: Tell Minister Bains you’re being gouged

The Big Three won't stop raking in huge profits by gouging Canadians unless they're forced to.

Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains has that power, and he's admitted our cell prices are "unacceptable."2

Call him now and tell him how much you’re being gouged, and demand he take action to protect Canadians.

This action is hosted by:

So you don’t help the needy. Only yourself.
see youre so thick headed you probably think this is a waste of money:

"thank you so much for signing up and supporting the campaign to protect our digital device privacy at the border.

If we’re going to win this campaign, it’s going to take a huge amount of public pressure.

Most people aren’t even aware of the laws that allow border agents to look through the personal information on our phones and laptops. So let’s get the word out in a big way!

Spread the word and get more people taking action – email the campaign to your friends: act.openmedia.org/borderprivacy and post it on Facebook and Twitter.

Ministers have been ignoring the advice of privacy experts for far too long now – it’s time to show them that people in Canada simply won’t stand for out of date laws that put our privacy at risk.

P.S. This is just the first phase of a long campaign to change these out of date laws. Donate now to help fund a huge billboard and video campaign to get this issue into the headlines!

France's yellow vest movement is organizing massive May 1 demonstrations. On April 7 it declared: "Conscious that we are fighting a global system, we believe it is necessary to exit capitalism." (1/2) .

"Conscious that we are fighting a global system, we believe it is necessary to exit capitalism." (Conscients que nous avons à combattre un système global, nous considérons qu'il faudra sortir du capitalisme.) As in 1789, the French lead the way. http://bit.ly/2VwT2Eo . (2/2)

O THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHAAAAANGING

this guy was a senator in the 1970s. he did some stuff with noam chomsky and howard zinn regarding the pentagon papers. he is now 90 years old and running for president.

he also wants worker control of industry, not authoritarian capitalism, which is what bernie sanders initially ran on in 2016 before he took a more mainstream approach.

We’re starting to see many Leftists begin to throw support behind @MikeGravel. Perhaps we should all ask him a simple question: @MikeGravel, do you support us moving toward a society where the workers control the means of production in a democratic and decentralized fashion?

The Right to Own
Job insecurity is a terrifying thing, and our economic system mandates that businesses shut down their stores, lay off their employees, and close their offices in a never-ending cycle of feast and famine. But while businesses come and go, people’s livelihoods don’t have to. Based on the U.K. Labor Party’s policy of the same name, the Right to Own would be a policy of employees being the first to be able to buy out a company when it’s going under or being sold. They have the right of first refusal: whether it’s being bought by another company or going out of business, the employees will be able to buy out their workplace and ensure that they get to control their own business, income, life, and livelihood.

The United States should:

  • Institute a policy of the Right to Own, ensuring that, when a company is being sold or is going out of business, the first group that has the chance to buy out the business’s assets and IP are the workers themselves.
  • Give grants and/or loans to these businesses if they decide to reorganize as a cooperative: a corporation that is run democratically by the workers, where each member of the company votes on management, parts of their contract, the general direction of the company, and more, with the specifics depending on how the cooperative decides to organize. These cooperatives are known for extremely high rates of productivity, worker satisfaction, benefits, and wages.
  • Set up a federal program to help these– along with all other– cooperatives, teach them how to operate, and ensure that they are self-sufficient.

40% of america no retirement savings:

Richard D. Wolff‏Verified account @profwolff Apr 15

Employers continue profiting by lowering pensions for ever-fewer employees & changing their structures. Many millions now face either poverty in retirement (if they can retire) or else burdening their children. Another part of American dream turns into a nightmare for millions.

capitalists collude and plan how much new tech they are actually going to release to keep people buying new crap:

Conservatives are thankful Trump's US does not face real gov't scrutiny as Europeans still do. The EU just found Germany's auto producers (VW, Mercedes, &BMW) guilty of colluding to hold back tech that reduces harmful emissions & protects public health.

EU antitrust: Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler accused of emissions collusion - CNN

"The reputation of Germany's flagship manufacturing industry is still suffering from a scandal that erupted in 2015 when Volkswagen admitted to rigging millions of diesel engines to cheat on emissions tests."
