I'm not looking to make friends--I'm just looking to liven this place up.
Care to give me some boomer investment tips? Is your house paid off? Do you have any cc debt? Do you have a car payment?

Any cool toys/fancy jewelry? I’m curious how “successful” boomers live.

Every boomer I know seems to know it all, but will still be paying their mortgage into their late 50s-60s and are in general not smart financially, my parents included.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
People hate them some Crypto.

Rod, head over to the buttcoin section on reddit, you’ll make tons of friends in there.
It really is funny the negative response people have to it.

It's either oh yeah I own x coin too.

Or you're a damn maroon.

Almost no middle ground. Lol

Getting pleasure out of others failures is very natural.

Did I say I get pleasure out of others failing? I thought I was just pointing out that there is another side of risky investing. I've got two friends who thought they were smart enough to do their own day trading. Today both of the are back working full time jobs because well--that didn't work out. If someone is going to post that they have a "sure fire way to get rich quick" and brag about it then they its open season on them as far as I am concerned. I hope you and everyone who gets suckered into all this Crypto/Bitcoin crap makes millions but all I see is a bunch of hocus pocus scam opportunities for those who started it. Good luck.

Nah man it's all good.

If this stuff tanks you're gonna have a big ol grin on your face. It's ok. I've been there I've done it.

I also get why people don't like it or are scared of it. It's not exactly easy to understand. It's like Microsoft. Oh it makes a lot of money that must be good.

For your information (its been posted before)

My house is paid off
My 2 vehicles (2016 3/4 ton Silverado and a 2014 Ford Focus) are paid off
My 2011 Harley Ultra Glide is paid for. (I keep saying paid off but I've paid cash for all these)
I have ZERO debt other than monthly utility bills
NO credit card debt. Its paid off every mouth automatically.

I hope that answers your questions. The average boomer isn't in debt but those who came after usually are.

As far as investment tips all I can say is find yourself a GOOD financial planner and do what they say. I got mine the old fashioned way----I earned it.

It don't hurt to have a frugal wife either (she not into jewelry)

I really don't think I would have a big grin on my face but I would be thinking -DAMN I tried to tell them.

Remember there's good debt and bad debt.

On the 5 year payoff plan with student loan debt because we can't write it off

On the 30 year payoff plan with the farm. Why? Because it's a 20k a year write off.

So take out a second and third and fourth mortgage, you could quadruple your awesome logic all the way to the bank!

It's a game literally everyone involved in real estate plays.

I have half a million dollars in equity in the land. I'd really like to use that to buy an apartment complex that's for sale. I just can't do that with the family farm though.

If my only worry in the world was increasing my net worth it would absolutely be the right thing to do though. But for me personally there's more than net worth at stake.
