You seem to think E-Verify can magically solve the illegal immigrant problem. Is it going to feed, clothe, and shelter them when employers comply and refuse to hire them? Or is the government (you and me) going to provide that. Are you going to pay the lion’s share because you voted for this administration?
Send them back across the border as we have and will continue to do if they can't prove their right to be here. BTW How come you've never mention the bunch of illegals that were caught at Mara logo ? Illegals who had been there working for the Trumps for years. I never said that E-verify would "magically solve" the immigration issue. it is however and important tool given that you and others are concerned that south of the border workers would depress wages. You can gripe and moan about the immigration issue all you want but the problem will still remain..... OVER POPULATION in the southern hemisphere. The time has come to confront that fact.

So the solution would be to keep the overpopulated in their hemisphere by effectively closing our southern border.

Great idea!!! Who is the only President to have attempted to accomplish that?

In fact the people who built and expanded the terminal building I worked out of not a single one of them spoke English. Yet here they were putting a building up for Fat Freddy. Goes to show you that he ain't no better than anybody else.

Controlling illegal immigration has to coincide with nailing the people who employ them.
You mean you assume that they were all illegal because of their color and language. Do you also assume all blacks are good dancers?

E Verify requires all employers to submit documentation to E Verify proving that the individual they wish to hire has met the eligibility requirements to work in the US.
Earth to Bacha, those individuals here illegally manage to get forged and stolen documentation.

Just thought you might like to be up to speed on the issue.

Separating kids from their parents at the border. How did that work out? We're still trying to reunite the kids with their parents and try to reach an out of court settlement with the affected individuals which is a far less costly and preferable outcome.

That wall of Trump's How did that work out? People were only delayed for a short time until they figured out a way to climb over it tunnel under it or walk around it. And what kind of success from Steve Bannon's donation funded wall was realized? Obviously not much given that the money remains unaccounted for. So ask Steve Bannon where the money went.

Then what do you propose be done to stop the practice and would you be willing to help underwrite the cost of apprehension and prosecution through a tax increase?

Maybe we could enforce the laws at the border. Just a thought.
If the American people are willing to foot the bill even if it means a tax increase? Lots of quack and no jack leaves you stuck in the same track. The cost of placing the kind of highly mobile resources needed to effectively stop illegal crossings along a border nearly 2000 miles long would be staggering. If such an effort were to become a mandated annual budget item that has to be funded with a federal income tax surcharge of say 10% you so called conservatives would never allow the bill requiring it to get out of committee.

Amazing how where they built the wall illegal crossings went way down. Y'all are throwing trillions around like confetti yet balked at spending $25 billion on the wall. Of course can't have anything in the way of millions of potential Democratic voters.

Was it the wall or was it COVID? Both happened at the same time. The wall's still there but the crossings still happen and the 25B only resulted in a limited number of miles worth of construction. And all coming from a guy who freely admits that he's paid no federal income tax in years yet wants something done regarding a matter of extreme importance to him.

It's like what a GOP state senator told me.....'The only public services that become reality are the public services the public is willing to pay for"....

I bet I owe less than you do. Beauty of being retired on a small pension. But I digress. Everywhere they put up a substantial amount of the wall, including before covid, the numbers went way down. The Border Patrol backing a decent wall makes all the difference.

453 miles were built by the way, and the whole $25 billion wasn't spent because Democrats greatly delayed the start then rigged the 2020 election. And with the way y'all have turned the floodgates open to illegals it's not hard to figure why the wall was so hated by Dems.

453 miles have been built, but most of it was to replace existing walls. 351 miles of primary wall and 22 miles of secondary wall were replaced. Only 80 miles of new wall were constructed, 47 miles of primary wall and 33 miles of secondary wall. There is a lot more that has been funded and under construction at this time. This information came from a report on January 8, 2021 by the US Army Corp of Engineers and US Customs and Border Protection.

That is a disingenuous narrative.
Don't fall for that silly stuff.

Spot on. Less than 20% of the US border has a wall. Only 1600 miles to go and most of that on the roughest terrain the border has to offer. Some reports suggest that the only truly effective border security would involve the use of top security level electronic surveillance with the manpower required to operate it and to apprehend those caught trying to cross.

It all comes down to money. And yet here you have Old Tex who freely admits that he hasn't paid a dime in FIT in years .
