We sit back and make fun of people who dont make it at UPS. The mangement at UPS sucks they lie,rig timecards,be little you. Much easier to take that abuse at top pay. Rather than at the bottom.

The bull :censored2: was minimal as a part timer compared to full time.

You did exactly what they wanted you to do. Trained up for peak season and quit before any raises or benefits kicked in. It's been the UPS model forever. Unions ok with it too since the initiation fees of new hires go to us. If you really want to stick it to them you need that ah ha moment where their bs doesn't faze you anymore and they start to back off

Working at UPS takes the patience of a fisherman, and the mentality of a porn star:

"Just take it one package at a time."

Sure, It can be hard to stay upbeat when you're stuck in the warehouse, working part-time, breaking your back, and getting yelled at. But there is a big picture working here, and that's what keeps me motivated.

I want to make 100k a year, with great benefits, doing a job that people respect and where people look forward to my arrival every day.

I'm willing to work hard to make that happen.

If you aren't, so be it. I hope your storm off was as liberating as you dreamed it would be.

I lasted 7 months as a pre-loader with no mention of advancement or a pay raise.

How I lasted these last 7 months is beyond me, but lately the stress and straight up lies have gotten to me. Once I felt my chest tighten I knew it was time to quit. Am I gonna have to return this stupid brown jacket or can I toss it in the back of my closet for the rest of time?

Also, UPS is a joke. I once got yelled at for taking my 15 minute break when the line was done where my manager said, and I quote "NO, NO, NO, YOU CAN'T SIT DOWN, YOU CAN'T TAKE A BREAK!" really? like ever? apparently not!

anyway, so long UPS, I hated you from the start

go to "glassdoor.com". its a job website where employees post their salaries, and reviews of corporations they worked for. to me it shows the corruption of the other job sites, because tehy dont show the things that matter most like what i listed above.

most of the guys on the forum are completely stuck in the matrix, they will just post low end humor and not help you what so ever. a culture of internet tough guys.

i would go to school for something, beware of over priced private colleges, and be weary of what course you take because you will take on a lot of debt, so you want to make sure you have a good paying job when you graduate. try and find a job where you get a good pension but also be aware that private corporations and government rip off employee pensions all the time. in addition, obviously some jobs are harder than others and pay less, like the job you had at UPS. also try and find a unionized job.

If you paid your union dues for this month , go down to the Local Offices and get a withdrawl card .
Should you get another teamster job this card will let you skip the new initiation fees .
