If I could afford a 40 min commute back when I made peanuts an hour like you...and even less than you at that time....other PTers can swing it or find other jobs. They can't expect an $11/ hr job to pay all the bills..we all have second jobs.

I got grandfathered in under a good contract 2 contracts ago...but i started at 8.50 an hour..and still hada 40min commute home.

And she is correct. For the most part, part timers get the shaft. When I started in the mid 80's. $8 an hour,wasnt bad money.
I usually worked 22-25 hours a week.
Made more than my full-time job,delivering beer for $4 an hour.
