Mechanics bidding outside their classification

Any one in Michigan know where mechanics Bid into other classifications? In the
Ryder reads= CENTRAL CONFERENCE SUPPLEMENT Article 19, Section 4
Journeymen mechanics will receive twenty-five cent hourly increase etc. Mechanics will not be permitted to bid into delivery driving, feeder driving, or tractor trailer driving work. Mechanics will only be used for work out of their classification after all other sources have been exhausted.
Just wondering if any have ever bid into a 22:3 job or anything besides feeders or packages. I know we can bid into PE. Thanks

I'm curious as to what health issues procluded him from mechanic work yet he can pass a dot physical for feeder..

I would guess his body was used up and the only thing left (other than disability) was to use him to warm up a seat.

I believe it had something to do with standing for long periods of time and getting down and back up to work under the package cars.

Happened years ago in Local 90 DSM IA.

Wrenching is a lot more demanding physically than driving.
