I heard the vaccine causes homelessness.

The timing checks out!

“A downtown business group’s monthly census of homeless residents documented a 22 percent spike in the population within its 275-block boundaries from April to May alone – and a nearly 62 percent increase in downtown’s outskirts. All told, the Downtown San Diego Partnership counted 1,157 homeless San Diegans and 389 tents during its monthly tally late last month.”

This is a real failure by Congress, Biden, the Supreme court, the CDC, etc. Hopefully it can be rectified

Think a fix would include a bailout for landlords too this time around? A year and a half of paying property taxes, mortgages, maintenance etc must really be adding up without any rental income coming in.

This is irrational view of American society. Landlords have much more money than renters, that means they have much more political power and sway. The fact that you believe the government didn't help landlords is just an irrational thing to believe.

How do you believe the government has helped landlords over the last 16 months?

As much as the hard left wants to believe so badly that it’s a universal reality among landlords, a lot of them are not fat cats with tons of money who own lots of properties and can hold out for years without bringing in any rental income. And it’s easier for elected politicians to not bother supporting them than it is for them to not support renters.

Here’s an example:

I don't believe anything. Either you want to know or you want to believe fiction. Just think about how politics work in America. People with money and power don't get left out of getting government money. There is a whole industry, made up of industry trade groups that beg the government for money on behave of rich companies and individuals, and you better believe that "landlord trade groups" pay for lobbyists. Lobbyists are so successful at begging for money from the government that the lobbyists get rich.
In this system, there is literally no scenario if you are a thinking person in which poorer renters are getting help from the government and wealthier landlords are getting nothing. Seriously. Some landlords REFUSE government assistance for their own reasons usually related to if you take this money you can't evict your tenants for a certain period of time.

The government shielding a renter from having to pay their rent is help from the government. A landlord still continuing to have to foot the bill for all property-related costs while receiving no rental income is not help from the government.

And it's actually the renters who can't qualify for government assistance if they do pay rent even if they can afford it. Here's the exact point in the video above at which the real estate attorney explains this.

Why do you believe fiction? Why do you think landlords a powerful political group with much more wealth and political influence than renters would not get any money? I know you have that video, but again some landlords turn down the money because the government money comes with stipulations that you can't evict your tenant for a certain period of time if you take that money.

So everyone either got to work from home, were laid off and received enhanced unemployment that for most laid off employees equaled or bettered there pay when they were working (and Biden retroactively game them back their taxes they owed on it), or were forced to work more hours and therefore earned more money. On top of this we had 3 stimulus payments. At the same time every single company in the world is hiring at higher rates than in the past and you could basically sign up for a job regardless of your past work history but I am supposed to feel sorry for someone who didn't pay their rent. AOC on basically the first day told people to stop paying their rents. She is as responsible for this as as anyone.

They got to live rent free for months. Did they think it was going to last forever?
Maybe now those who are capable of working will get off their lazy asses and get a job---but I doubt it. Every business in the USA is begging for help so I don't shed too many tears for the "homeless". Do like we did when I graduated high school. Get 3 or 4 of your buddies and rent an apartment. Rent split up 3 or 4 ways is very doable.
