More bad press from...of course GROUND

Because having one all employee workforce is the best and most efficient system long term. Ground has had a good run for awhile now. But that time is nearing it's end. Costs will continue to rise at ground for expansion and labor costs, lowering profit levels to the point of not as cost effective as having one system.
Ground has run its course

Fred will have many sleepless nights trying come up with ways to keep the union out once Express and Ground combine making the RLA argument/shady deal sink like a stone.

It will be fine

Building expansion costs are going to be incurred regardless. Labor costs will be dramatically lower with Ground. Your argument doesn’t make sense.

That massive spike is not going to go down to previous volume levels. Covid-19 has only strengthened e-commerce demand. Brick and mortar retail is all but dead. FedEx will have to change their long term plan to adjust. Separating the opcos is just too inefficient and they know it.

I wouldn't say B&M retail is all but dead but it will certainly not go back to pre-Covid levels.
