saw on the news last night that it is now a ups policy that the deliver drivers make right hand turns only. what happens if you are caught making a left turn? do you get a warning letter?
Goodness its on the CNN website, UPS has been doing routes like that for years
not a rule perse but more guidelines try running your route backwards, it wouldn't work nearly as well.
There is no UPS policy that states no left turns. It's just the news media twisting the fact that UPS does try to to minimize left turns for safety purposes and to be more fuel efficient.
I run all my errands in the loop system, I always go to a light when possible to make a left. I rarely go left, its just engrained, heard it was on news, didnt see it tho.
When they re-looped after starting PAS/EDD, I gained two left turns (busy road in the height of late afternoon traffic). To this day I sit there and curse the PAS sup as I wait....and wait....and wait.............
When they re-looped our routes right before PAS, they had one of our drivers route making multiple right turns. Only problem was they were
one way streets going in the opposite direction. Duh!
