Then stay off public roads, and don't call the police or fire department, or or 911 when you think you need them. If all the 'smart' people like you who cry about socialism quit using any government services, the roads would only have 1/2 the traffic. ANY government is by definition socialist. You cry about a small difference in degree of socialism people want.
Oh baloney. Government providing services to it's constituents isn't socialism. Government taking from one and giving to another in wealth redistribution, trying to create equal outcomes, is socialism.

Are you putting healthcare in the same category as trash collection or fire fighting? Healthcare becomes socialism when you force people to pay for others care.

Yes Van, same difference. We are forced to pay taxes to put out fires where we don't live. Healthcare is no different.

That's a huge stretch and you know it. Healthcare in the U.S. was privatized, and the best in the world, albeit expensive. Liberals want to force the best healthcare be shared with those who can't afford it. In the end it will bring down the quality of the healthcare for everyone after taking the profit motive out of it. Companies don't spring up to develop life saving medicines or new machines that'll extend life if all they're going to do is break even. The best and brightest won't go to med school to just break even in life. Take the profit motive out and you'll get fewer doctors, fewer options.

Suck up to big pharma and big insurers all you want but they ain't going to worry about what happens to you if you don't have the money to pay the tab and the question of how you're going to pay your healthcare bills in the future is question we should all be asking ourselves today not years from now.
I don't recall people being turned away from emergency rooms in the past.

For many by the time they show up to the ER, it's too late. Besides, who do you think picks up the tab when they can't pay?
The government wasn't forcing people to buy insurance back then or see their premiums skyrocket. Big difference.
Yes. their charters and licenses require them to provide a basic level of care but if you think that you can just walk out the door and stiff the hospital for the bill ...not quite so easy. If you're broke and can prove that you're indigent they will more often than not send you over to apply for Medicaid. You know, that socialized medicine that you despise.
One of the drivers behind the ACA was the fact that 86% of of personal bankruptcies were due to medical bills. I hope they have cheap and good quality healthcare where you're going .
