This may be instructive, it's long to watch, it will should make anyone thankful of our blessing. That said, I believe it can be translated into the Russian-Ukraine conflict.
I believe you (ox) may watch it, @DriveInDriveOut, not a chance.
It could be an illustration of why the previous and current encroachments are happening.
Just an offering to view. @DriveInDriveOut will not consider viewing, he knows everything already.

" Last week, Carlson called for immediate capitulation to Russia. “Putin is making nuclear threats,” he noted. “Whatever the reason he is making them, the fact he is making them . . . is enough for any responsible person to say, ‘Now we stop.’” On this view, any dictator could paralyze America just by issuing a plausible nuclear threat."

"This depiction of military conflict—if you resist the aggressor, you’re for “war,” but if you reward him by capitulating, you’re for “peace”—used to be associated with the left. Now it’s spreading on the right, and conservative isolationists are using it to pose as idealists. "

"Carlson, casting America as the villain, frames the war as a Democratic plot. “Biden’s advisers wanted a total regime-change war against Russia, apparently to avenge the election of Donald Trump,” he told viewers last week. He claimed that this was why the Biden administration wanted to label Russia a state sponsor of terror: not because Putin really does commit terrorism, but because we’re looking for an excuse to “topple” him"

"Carlson asserted last week, the United States “could end this war tonight” by securing a deal to which Putin would readily agree: “Russian troops leave. Ukraine promises not to join NATO. Everything is at it was in January of this year. And everything’s fine.” That’s a preposterous scenario, but it follows logically from Carlson’s comically benign account of Putin’s motives."

Speaking of assertions, I noticed no quotation marks were used in a number of false assertions in this article. And the fact remains there was a serious attempt at negotiations in March that the U.S. insisted Ukraine not accept. If Russian troops were to leave now on the promise of Ukraine not joining NATO would that be acceptable to you? If not why not?

Putin never agreed to a deal in April. What false assertions? Here's the whole piece:

"Last week Carlson called for immediate capitulation to Russia." No he didn't.
Tucker has consistently said we need to be very careful in our dealings with Russia because they have the largest stockpile of nuclear warheads in the world. He wrongly assumed that the Ukrainians stood no chance and thus we were throwing huge amounts of money down a hole. And risking nuclear war doing so. But in no way is he supportive of Putin.

After reading that one can only assume "The Bulwark" readership doesn't watch FOX News. For example it's claimed that Carlson said Ukraine was just like Iraq. He said the opposite. That this isn't Iraq or Syria. That we're dealing with a nuclear power. A number of others were twisted. Liberals have been trying to get Tucker for years. Now they're appealing to our patriotism in hopes of destroying him. You need to consider that both parties in Washington are in bed with the military/industrial complex. And ask yourself where all those billions spent on Ukraine are going?

Suddenly supporting one side in a war between two non democratic countries is an act of patriotism.

We're fighting a surrogate war against a nuclear power . what could possibly go wrong.

Wouldn't that be considered an act of war?
