We are opposed to the full-body backscatter x-ray airport scanners on grounds of health and privacy. We do not consent to strip searches, virtual or otherwise. We do not wish to be guinea pigs for new, and possibly dangerous, technology. We are not criminals. We are your customers. We will not beg the government anymore. We will simply stop flying until the porno-scanners are history.

We will not be abused simply for the privilege of purchasing your services. We demand the airlines make their maximum lobbying effort in support of our, your customers’, rights and liberties. We are eager to fly again, but only when this invasive threat has been contained.
How to Opt Out: Say “I Opt Out”

You are not required by law to submit to imaging.
How to Raise Hell

1. Stop flying.
2. OPT OUT of the scanners. EVERY TIME!
3. Educate yourself, your family, friends and neighbors.
4. Organize an educational event at your local airport for National Opt Out Day, Nov 24.
5. Create a video saying why you won’t fly. And send us a link!
6. Protest to the airlines.
7. Make a fuss to the hotels.
8. Complain to the government.
9. Report your experience to EPIC.
10. File a complaint with the ACLU.
11. File a TSA Civil Rights complaint.
12. Tell We Won’t Fly your TSA story.

I'm personally a fan of the idea of when you ask not to go through the scanner and they have to "grope" or "pat" you down, you moan and really act like you're enjoying it. Might as well make them uncomfortable and put on a good show.

The Pirate Party in Germany have started growing protests against the scanners.

George Donnelly, one of the creators of "wewontfly" has been involved in a much larger discussion that started with some folks over at Center for a Stateless Society and then spread to other activists at several other radical libertarian/anarchist groups that may organize similar actions in the US except go one step further. The protests may approach the TSA wearing a coat or other type outerwear and then opt out. When pulled aside for the physical search, they will remove the outer wear to expose a fully nude body and of course film crews will be present to film the process and make it obvious just how far these opt out searches go.

Also a growing focus is building towards former Homeland Security Chief Micheal Chertoff as to his own relationship and benefit to the deployment of these scanners.

I'm flying to Houston next week, from there to FLL.
Maybe that machine has some benefits, like no longer taking your shoes off, or emptying your pockets ?
