Lmao yesterday a bunch of Elon Musk fans found this tweet again, so they are spending their Thanksgiving weekend defending Elon Musk's feeling from getting hurt by a 3 year old tweet, reminding me that Musk fanboys are literally the most pathetic losers on God's green Earth.

The funniest thing about libertarians worshipping @elonmusk is that he's basically the villain from Atlas Shrugged. He makes all his money from government subsidies and contracts, and by wildly exaggerating production to pump up stock prices.
Ever use PayPal Ricky?

I’d think if we had the technology to terraform any planet we’d also have the technology to solve whatever problems we have here on Earth. No need to leave.
300 years after finding and conquering an entire new continent across an ocean, the major cities in Europe were still in squalor.

This is just how humanity works.

Musk got wealthy from developing and selling his stake in PayPal. You guys are always talking about saving the planet. Musk used his wealth to develop the first large scale electric auto manufacturer, Tesla. Almost went broke doing it. But it paid off big time. He has since started Space X and Star Link. Star Link is bringing high quality internet to people all over the world in places where there were only poor options or none at all. He's doing things that are very beneficial, creating a lot of jobs doing it. And yet you focus on his wealth and hate him for it. Envy.

he got all kinds of welfare from govt which you convienently didnt mention.

im not sure electric cars are the solution, they might be only part of the solution. yes he developed electric cars and not sure what impact he had on that. his cars are too inefficient to be the solution, and he bashed public transport which likely is the real solution.

He pushed things forward. And every major corporation has received government welfare in some form. It's called lobbying. UPS just got their pension plan bailed out. FedEx lobbies Congress all the time. GM got rescued. So have major banks and Wall Street firms. Doesn't change the fact that he and others have gotten very wealthy by being extremely innovative. They reap the rewards for doing so.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

if we invest in these companies we should share the wealth

elon and all these :censored2:s should give it back maybe

GM i recall that one. US sold their shares at a discount.

the banks wouldnt even exist were it not for the bailouts

they got wealthy maybe by being innovative, maybe not.

You do realize most of their wealth is in their stock, right? He didn't take away anything that he would need to give back. He owns shares of stock in his corporation. Others want to own that stock too so it went way up in value, greatly increasing his wealth. That's his reward for being very innovative. Same for Bezos. Gage. Others.

Also, 3 years later and all he's got is pretending to not know the difference between market cap and initial investment? The public invested billions in Telsa, far more than Musk. It wasn't vested into shares because our government is corrupt and likes to give money to the rich.
