That’s what happens when you worship at the Church of Elon.
I hate neurolink, and his positively dystopian vision for the future. It's a shame that he's the front-man for a proper revolution that was always going to happen - the electric vehicle.

It was going to happen anyway, so I might as well make boatloads from it just from recognizing when an evil genius is at work. But no, I don't even like him.

The amazing thing about current grids is that they are current grids. And the amazing thing about future grids is that they are future grids. If you take the current grid and add money, it becomes the future grid. Amazing!

A family with no on-site power generation would be as helpless as people with gas cars. Good point! Lol.
Still need to figure out where all the copper and silver is going to come from. Chile, the world's biggest copper producer, just elected a communist. There's talk of an 80% tax on copper from there. Would be funny, but not really, if our greenies sent in the troops to grab that copper in much the same way we influenced governments in the Middle East over oil.

I'm not anti electric, but I am pro common sense and based on my research electric has a lot of obstacles before it is practical for my family. One battery in Michigan and Solid State batteries show a lot of potential but even if they succeed there are other limiting factors like the power grid, but we aren't allowed to talk about that.

If you were to make the conversion to electric, I would suggest keeping at least one conventional fuel car for extended road trips.

My 2021 Hyundai Kona EV had a sticker price of $44K. NY Drive Clean rebate was $2K. Dealer took an additional $1K and offered me $17K for my paid off 2018 Nissan Altima, bringing my out of pocket to about $23K. The $7,500 will bring my Federal tax bill down to 0.

Is it worth it? I haven't had to worry about rising gas prices since 5/28/21; however, my electric bill has gone up $50-100 during the months that I have been unable to use the free public charging station in front of our complex office. I do like the fact that I am doing my small part to save the environment.
In your original post on this matter, you said the dealer gave you $1K more than you owed on the Altima. Try to keep your story straight please Skippy.

Really?

Gosh everyone can just have spares....right?

See, this is talking out of both sides of your face.

Is this one of the "minor inconveniences" of owning all electric? Doubling your expenses? Not even close....bud. Eh?

Fascinating logic. 99% of people can't charge at home. I'm blown away. This new fact changes everything. The electric vehicle is doomed!
No Champ.....charging at work.....quickly while driving to/from....during a trip......lot's and lot's of reasons that include 99% of Americans.....or higher. EV's are IMPRACTICAL. To most anyone. Look at the hoops you clowns have to jump through to justify these things.....taxes, this/that....incentives......TIME. Population density....blah blah. The most problems I have with my ICE vehicle is a low tire pressure warning when it gets cold...hell, the spark plugs go 100,000 miles...

OMG

China has 40,000 miles of High Speed Rail. America has ZERO. We are a joke when it comes to getting anywhere fast. My last trip to Texas by the time I left my house-- flew out of my local airport (missed the connecting flight to Dallas due to delays at local airport) it was 7 hours to go 125 miles. What a joke. Even longer getting home.
Yep. New Orleans is 8 hours by car here. 1.5hrs(actual flying time, depending on direction) by plane max.

Add in all the airport commute, parking, and 2 hours extra for TSA.....we just drive. Add in the plane crew NAZI's(masks), no beverage service etc.(due to Covid blah blah).....we just drive. The airlines cry about empty planes....see above. Plus we'll have a car at our destination.

Last time I flew to MN.....I had to fly to Iowa....then 2 hour UBER. Me and 3 other people on the plane....

You do know that Europe is considering banning all short haul flights in the EU....in favor of rail. Climate change being the reason....Imagine that here.....notice I didn't say "high-speed" rail....

That makes absolutely NO sense. Watch some videos of other countries High Speed Rail --It's mostly in the countryside with lots of space. They don't go 250-300 mph in the city
Yes, passing by everyone else.....tough to get anywhere stopping all the time.....why would I drive to get on a train? Fly to get on a train?
They're going through the country between very high density places.
Right....don't work for most Americans....ever see a red map of the US?

We just see videos of a woman being raped(on high density trains) surrounded by I phone observers/content creators...

One of odd you bought out the lease and traded it in. Most people turn in the leased vehicle and lease another one. But we know you are very intelligent when it comes to financial stuff. Lol.
I paid it off thinking that I would be keeping it. One morning I was bored and decided to go look at EV cars. I really liked the Hyundai Kona EV and decided to go for it. I then ordered an EV charger from Amazon and had it installed in my garage.

Wow, the ignorance.

The average driver would barely need one full charge per week.

The maintenance schedule on EVs is wipers and tires. And that's pretty much it forever. Everything about them is more convenient and easier for almost everybody.
