Only 5% of next car purchasers expect to buy all electric cars-Road and Track.

But there is the issue of increasing grid capacity for all those EV's. And there's the very real issue of not having enough copper and silver to not only replace the ICE's out there but to continue to make new cars going forward. Those may be roadblocks to EV's that are insurmountable. We may very well have parallel network because of it.
With autonomous, electric vehicles, the total number of cars on the road can go down even while mobility goes up (assuming you havne't pissed off the social credit scoring system).

The EV is their ticket to make sure you own nothing .

Copper and silver are just not big problems. I know you want them to be. But they're not.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
The limit on the mobility is from the AI, not the battery.
It's much easier to limit mobility with gas vehicle than with batteries. How easy is it to cut people off from gas? A lot easier than cutting them off from electricity.

Every home and shop in america can fill my tank.

You only have 100k places to go.
Not the tech, the government.

Embracing technology that you know Will be used that way is curious to me, to each his own I suppose.

Nope but I delivered to many farmers. They all seemed to have modern homes, new pickups, new snowmobiles and newer equipment------and complained about how there is no money in farming. :-)
I hope you thanked them for the food that was waiting for you at home.

I knew you had to be making money on it to be as pro-EV as you are. So I wasn't too far off long ago when I jokingly said your father must own a Tesla Dealership.?
No, I do it the old fashioned way with owning Tesla stock for a few minutes at a time and flipping high volume trades very quickly.

They would be doing it as we speak if they planned on widespread EV use. The goal is not to replace ICE as much as it is to limit our mobility.
I think if we go all electric then cars will be limited to the wealthy and most of us will be limited to ebikes and trikes. I've seen online some very small electric powered enclosed vehicles. Sometimes 3, something 4 wheels, bicycle wheels. A lot of ebikes these days can do high 20's to mid 30's mph. Some faster. Because of the shortage of required metals I bet Tesla prices will remain high and thus the privilege of the affluent. We'll be on public transportation or riding bikes if we can't pay the high prices. And the powers that be will still make us register our bikes and get insurance. Too much money lost if they don't.

As soon as self-driving is perfected, Tesla will be making autonomous taxis by the millions for 25k in costs, and never selling them.
Then you'll pay by the mile to be transported.
Tesla will make a few hundred thousand on each vehicle, and you'll get cheaper transportation. You'll own nothing and be happy.

And we will all live in cities and work in factories. Hmmmmm, sounds familiar..

You say that but there's not enough production of either to meet the demand. It's not what I want, it's CEO's in those industries pointing that out.

Homeboy is going to Mars on a rocket he built while running the fastest growing car company in history, and is building the most powerful AI platform in the world while buying Twitter with pocket change.

And you think he can't get copper.

lololololol

That might work in big cities. Someone has to pay for those taxis, and I doubt it'll be that cheap to ride.
