OK, the title is a bit of tongue-n-cheek but looking back a year ago, who would have guessed these issues would have literally fallen off the map with the american voter as we speak. Right now it's all about the economic situation that we face. With that said I read the following op-ed entitled "Gov't is the Grave Threat" and just sat back amazed at how much has changed in the public discussion so quickly instead of what I thought we see being debated in the public space.

But then when this whole campaign thing started I think most here thought Hillary would have the democrat side and I think most folks here (at least IMO based on reading many of your thoughts) that someone other than McCain was the favorite to win the nomination. Funny how things work out sometimes.
