Over allowed write ups have begun.

It is, but it's a team effort. If you believe in something so much that you are ready to go all out sometimes what you want and hope for happens. I've always wanted what is best for the members of our local. Good days and bad days. Usually the bad out way the good but I've always believed in something and someone. In the end the members of the local I work out of are better off. I played a bit part.

Bit a short theatrical performance that is part of a longer program
While I can appreciate all that you said, truly I do.

I still continually find myself struggling to make chicken salad, out of chicken :censored2:?

I know you do. I don't have all the answers, but truly wish I did. I'm lucky to have been taken in by who I have. I'm appreciative, loyal, and hard working in return. I utilize what strengths I have to work with. One thing I'll be sure to tell anyone. I appreciate what I have. More than anyon will truly know. Good luck to you. I appreciate your efforts. Thank you.

So my management team has now given 3 guys a write up for over allowed "fair days work". In our local we can't grieve a write up. So we have been filing harassment and safety. Should be a interesting month. I know I'll be in the office this week. Have the grievance filled out already just needs the date.

Just continue to laugh it off and keep working with safety in mind and follow methods. Jesus......all this constant talk of performance nonsense. They would have run out of paper and trees if I got letters for running over. About 2 hours over is solid and average for me. If things are screwed up in various ways then tack on more time......who cares. Some things you can't control.
Heck on my old route many years ago when they "sprinkled the pixie dust" and magically my allowance changed I was 3-4 hours over daily. No biggie to me......harassed and threatened to pick up my pace and I wouldn't budge whatsoever, and guess what.......?? Ya......I'm still browning up daily. Well, at least when I feel like working that is. Thinking about going in tomorrow which would be "Monday" for me. But I have a solid feeling that the casino will be calling my name and I'll take another day. :)

For going on 13 years as a steward, I have been told we cannot grieve warning letters, that we can only file what is termed a 'protest letter' , or 'letter of record' in the State of Ohio.

These "letters" are attached to a grievance form and never heard unless the progression of discipline on that subject advances.

I have always thought that it sucks.
Kind of gives the Company a 'freebie'.
Article 37 harassment

If the member feels harassed, intimidated, or coerced by this warning letter that they feel was given to them in error. You know some of these situations are harassment as well as you know that some of these members repeatedly do things over and over again that they know not to do. The member also is put in a situation that they can't win. You know they might be harassing them. That's when your instincts set in and you tell the member that in your opinion they need to protect themselves from what on would consider over supervision.
What about using the Ohio rider language? @Bubblehead are you familiar with the language?

Well I was right. Was pulled into the office today. I have to say my SS did a great job. He annihilated my center manager. I couldn't help but sit there with a smile on my face as he attacked my center manager point for point. Finally my center manager gave up said he wasn't going to follow thru with the write up and told us to get out.

I got the day off today because we had so many people up. On the way home I picked up a 6 pack of my SS favorite beer. Can't wait to say thanks and give it to him tomorrow.

These grievances (protest letters) have absolutely, positively, never been heard "at the Local level " here .....

.....and what's the purpose if the State Panel won't hear them....aside from appeasing labor law judges???

Why would the Company ever validate that process.....

.....if there wasn't the possibility of it ever being deadlocked to the next level???

Let me ask you this;

If a warning letter is issued and is untimely (per the contract)

How does your Local resolve that ??

Where is the company's motivation to abide by the language....

And not just half-arse, every other part ??

I doubt they would notice, unless it was pointed out to them?

....and even then, my guess is that they would just file away the warning letter and hope it would never be referenced again.

But I do see where you are going.....when does an employee cease to be whole???

I say it is as soon as the Company wrongly initiates the progression of discipline, and if it can't be settled locally, the State Panel should sort it out.

This travesty plays out repeatedly with "avoidable accidents" that are arbitrarily judged, while we are told it is exclusively the Company's decision and can't be grieved, just "protested".

Do you agree with that?

Let me get this straight.

The member and the Stewards.... don't monitor the "timely" issuance of a warning letter ??

Is that, what I'm seeing ??

Just trying to understand.... this nonsense.
