I think where you're going wrong is trying so hard to figure out a way to make.money fast. Been there, done that. In the end these guys who worked long hours for UPS have a lot more to show for their efforts. If you are in with the right company then make the most of it. Don't worry if your hard earned money gets eaten up by inflation. You're human, only have so much time on Earth. You'll be long gone before you're destitute assuming you don't have very bad habits. The ones who come after you? They'll work at a higher rate of pay to offset the cost of living. When they retire they'll have some time left and then they're gone too. You can't beat what's inevitable for all of us. So stop worrying about what you can't change. That's my two cents.

Absolutely but I’m sure you know none of us have control of this. we are stuck in the system and we have to deal with it. Those of us who have worked at UPS many years, have it better than large portion of the country. I am by no means poor. I am however comfortable. And since I didn’t set out to be rich, I’m OK with it. I can only control what I can control.
