Payroll Tax Cut

The payroll tax is deferred, as I understand it.
(Please someone correct me if I'm wrong), but that means it will still be owed once this is over, correct?
Meaning that sooner or later, we'll all still have to fork over that money.
Deferred now, terminated later! ( If not terminated then the deferred will be forgiven) Unless Sleepy Joe wins...

Yep. Doesn’t matter to Trump as long as it gets us through the election. Not necessarily saying that as a criticism. It’s a slick political move.

Make sure to keep weekly earnings below $2K to receive President Trumps payroll tax break!
Oops.

Under Article I of the U.S. Constitution, only Congress has the power to “lay and collect taxes.”

Don’t see anything about ’cut’ or ‘forgive’. Means it’s up for grabs until Supreme Court weighs in on it.
Lay and collect taxes means what? They get to decide what the taxes are. Our president. Just decided on his own that he can change the tax code without Congress. That is against the article you just quoted . The supreme Court defended that right when Obama tried to do similar crap.

Yeah tell the governors of california, new york, washington, oregon, michigan and new jersey about going through the legislature instead of just issuing executive orders.

:censored2:ed up thing is I agree with you, but im tired of the bs only going one way. If they can skip the legislature to screw us over we can skip it to help us out.

Constitution is looking like the contract. Governors/Management ignore it when its expedient and enforce it when its in their favor. And half of us take their side.

Inslee admitted in public records that his dictates were unenforcable. People tried to sue him over them, and he moved to have the court dismiss the case because the plaintiffs had no grounds to sue because his orders are unenforcable. That doesn't mean he hasn't caused anyone any harm by making them.

Oregon is going to have a recall election. They tried challenging Brown in court, but the supreme court is loyal to her. Man, people talk about Trump being fascist. They have no idea. Most don't even know what fascism is anyway, but it sure sounds scary.

-- SEN. BEN SASSE (R-Neb.): “The pen-and-phone theory of executive lawmaking is unconstitutional slop. President Obama did not have the power to unilaterally rewrite immigration law with DACA, and President Trump does not have the power to unilaterally rewrite the payroll tax law.”
