One day Strike in 94 for the weight increase over the weekend. From 75 lbs on Friday to 150 lbs on Monday. We walked
Wildcat strike.

UPS claimed it wasn't a bargaining issue. But waited until just after the contract was settled to spring it on us.

I remember management had part timers send letters to congress to increase the weight limit to 150 pounds.

Yes, a millionaire, and yes, a part timer, and yes, a former seasonal driver. All of the above.

I know you're ignorant, but tens of thousands of young people, most 25 to 35, have made life changing amounts of money in the crypto boom, 2020 tech stock boom, and meme stocks. I'm one of them. There are tens of thousands of us.
Sure there are. Sorry you have to wait for your parents to die to own a home.

No, they weren't. I know this because stop counts, package size, and package weight went up.

That means the trucks weren't full.
Don't know what center you worked in? We were heavy. Our centers back in the day had a lot of manufacturing.

Sure, some drivers somewhere would be very full.

But with more irregs than ever, heavier average packages then ever, and more stops per driver than ever, we can say with 100% certainty that the trucks are more full now.

I started in the early 1970's...the job, company and union were much different back then....the parcel weight max was 50 pounds with very little bulk/incompatibles/irregulars........also the brownies were much smaller and faster.....it was a great place to work until 1976 when the unifying 3 month took place...so yes the modern day teamsters have a much harder job and better money and benefits.
When did you retire? No way the job was easier than today. Sure, you do more stops, that's because you dump and go. You don't even have to think now.
