Does anyone have or had a two list system in their local for seniority and if changed, how was it done?
Yes. In or out of classification. Are you talking by classification?
Can you give a similar example that asks your question?Yes. In or out of classification.
When you bid or transfer to another route, job or spot in a different or same classification that you are in already in. Do you keep or do you lose your full time company seniority. If the language had changed in your local contract, how did it happen? Can you give a similar example that asks your question?
If you're a driver bidding from one route to another, you keep your company seniority. If you are a driver and bid a 22.3 job you keep your company seniority. If you're a part timer and pass driving probation and are now full time you don't lose company seniority, but will be at the bottom of that seniority list. You will pick vacations last but will not lose all the vacation time that you have accrued. If you transfer to another building you don't lose company seniority, however you'll lose your building seniority, and be at the bottom of that buildings seniority list. When you bid or transfer to another route, job or spot in a different or same classification that you are in already in. ...and they all fit on one page. The only lists we have are FT and PT.
At my building we keep our seniority when making a lateral move like changing sorts or specific jobs.If you are a part time on preload and then you transfer to local sort (reload)do you get to keep your seniority or do you go to the bottom of the list

We have what they call building seniority and center seniority.
Any new position you take (FT package, Feeder or moving to another center) is based on building seniority. Once there you drop to the bottom of the center seniority list.
Is this a union issue or ups ???Things are getting heated in 177. Alot of members want to be able to carry over their seniority when they move around within the local but can't.
Most of the old timers don't want this because they don't want to be bumped down a couple spots ...especially the feeder guysThings are getting heated in 177. Alot of members want to be able to carry over their seniority when they move around within the local but can't.

What about a 20 year part timer or a 19 year full timer who would have seniority in feeders under the changes your suggesting?Half true. If they where hired off the street, true. If they have package time that will allow them to move up the list not true
