Dear IRS,

So I wanna change my status in name from being an employee to being a prison or casino, could you give me the same advice you've given others?

Thanks

Begs the question, when the so-called "rich" can avail themselves of these legal gymnastics, how does raising the levels of taxing on the so-called "rich" going to work anyway? Ironic some of the biggest mouths in Washington about the so-called rich not paying the "fair share" are the one's who not only help write and pass the tax code but to the death insist we keep and maintain the same failed and utterly immoral method of taxation in the first place.

[h=1]U.S. citizens ditch passports in record numbers[/h][h=2]If the recent quarter's pace continues, 2013 will become a landmark year for saying goodbye to America, tax-wise.[/h]
FORTUNE -- Americans are ditching their U.S. passports in record numbers, a sign of growing frustration with a system that taxes U.S. citizens on their global wealth whether they live in Montana or Mongolia.
The latest bold-faced names to relinquish their U.S. citizenship include Mahmood Karzai, a brother of Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, according to federal data released Wednesday. Also on the list, published quarterly by the Internal Revenue Service, is Isabel Getty, the daughter of jet-setting socialite Pia Getty and Getty oil heir Christopher Getty.
In total, more than 670 U.S. passport holders gave up their citizenship -- and with it, their U.S. tax bills -- in the first three months of this year. That is the most in any quarter since the I.R.S. began publishing figures in 1998. And it is nearly three-quarters of the total number for all of 2012, a year in which the wealthy songwriter-socialite Denise Rich (christened "Lady Gatsby" by Yachting magazine) and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin joined more than 932 other Americans in tossing their passports.
Expatriations first picked up pace in 2010, when more than 1,530 Americans dumped their passports.

So if the 1% leave , who will support the 99% ?

What a shocker, they weren’t being forthcoming yesterday.

Via Politico:

WASHINGTON — A federal watchdog’s upcoming report says senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups in 2011.
The disclosure contradicts public statements by former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, who repeatedly assured Congress that conservative groups were not targeted.

On Friday, the IRS apologized for what it acknowledged was “inappropriate” targeting of conservative political groups during the 2012 election to see if those groups were violating their tax-exempt status.

The Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration is expected to release the results of a nearly yearlong investigation in the coming week.
The Associated Press obtained part of the draft report.

That report says the head of the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups learned that groups were being targeted in June 2011. It does not say whether Shulman was notified

Maybe the Republicans should stop blocking the Presidents appointments.

American Taliban, that's the legacy the Republicans will leave. Traitors all.

Now that the regime’s excuse of this being isolated to only The IRS’ Cincinnati office is blown out of the water I wonder what they will go with?

WASHINGTON, May 14 (UPI) – Internal Revenue Service Tea Party targeting went beyond an Ohio office, and the current and ex-IRS heads knew about the practice a year ago, records indicate.

IRS officials at the agency’s Washington headquarters and at offices in El Monte, Calif., east of Los Angeles and Laguna Niguel in California’s southern Orange County sent queries to conservative groups asking about their donors and other facets of their operations, documents obtained by The Washington Post indicate.

The IRS originally said the alleged anti-conservative usurpation was limited to its Cincinnati branch. The Cincinnati IRS employees told conservatives seeking the non-profit status of “social welfare” groups a Washington task force was overseeing their applications, activists from those groups told the Post.

Lois Lerner, head of the IRS tax-exempt-organizations division, told reporters Friday the “absolutely inappropriate” actions were done by “front-line people” working in Cincinnati to target groups with “Tea Party,” “patriot” or “9/12″ in their names.
Her office had no immediate comment to the Post report.

Nice try, but no. The Inspector General of the IRS found that 12 offices were involved, 10 of them in Washington.

Via HuffPo:
Acting Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Steven Miller revealed Wednesday that officials had identified two “rogue” employees that were responsible for subjecting Tea Party groups to extra scrutiny in their requests for tax-exempt status, a congressional source told CNN.

According to CNN, the IRS employees were based out of the agency’s Cincinnati office and had been determined to have gone “off reservation.”

At his press briefing on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary refused to answer questions about whether the president had confidence in Miller’s leadership. He said that Obama would “be discussing these issues with Treasury [Department] leaders later today.”

The Daily Mail is the first place I turn to for reliable news about American politics. Or anything other than alien abductions, for that matter.
