Nice word.
Most UPS people couldn't use it in a sentence.
Let alone.... understand it.

Hello first post. I just stared freight as FT dockworker w/CDL a couple weeks ago. Am I now screwed because of this contract and considered one of those two tier hybrid drivers or did I fall under the old contract?? I really hope someone can help me I really was hoping I got in in time. Starting to think I didn’t. 30
More punches till I get fired or join union but they said I’ve been doing good. Been so crazy I haven’t seen a dock there yet cus always driving.
Edit- also can I go to union meetings even tho I haven’t completed my 45 punches? They told me when they meet and all that but I’m skeptical. I think I stepped into some. What’s even
tier is it’s still above Others when it comes to pay :/
It’s time to vote them out and anyone that supported what they did!The proper next step would have been renegotiation and a re-vote. But the Union leadership betrayed the membership. Nobody was suggesting an immediate strike. Her point is moot.
This “Well, we couldn’t strike after the first vote because of the participation rate” talk is nothing but a distraction from the betrayal. UPS was ready to keep talking. National Teamster leadership was not.
The talk that the Union couldn’t do anything is a load of. Don’t let those little
ers fool you.
That will look so much worse for the hoffacers! Just keep giving the momentum to Sean!Doesn't matter the amount of petitions that are signed. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.....
Most of that corruption, was confined to regional area's of the country where
organized crime was prevalent. IE.... New York, New Jersey, etc.

This is apart ofOk, that’s great, let’s all move on now.
This all apart of the Teamster process.Ok, that’s great, let’s all move on now.
That, I believe, is the Absolute truth. What, no Ups dues money coming in?? Well, we can’t have that..To add to that, right after getting strike authorization they granted an indefinite extension. They were more nervous about having a strike than the company.
Organized crime was all over the country with the teamsters. That’s one of if not the only reason why central states pension fund was always low on funds for decades. Now it’s going to be insolvable becouase of it...
This says it all. Time to think about the long terms. There is no reopening of this contract.
From Kara Deniz, a spokeswoman for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, said the vote turnout shows the union lacks rank-and-file support for a strike on UPS.
“The national agreement was rejected by approximately 24% of the eligible membership. No union can successfully conduct a strike with the support of only 24% of the bargaining unit,” she said in an email Tuesday.
Teamsters bosses resist calls to reopen UPS contract after 'no' vote
Agreed. Isn’t it ironic that the Teamsters had the most power at the apex of corruption? The idea that the mafia ruined our pensions is the BIG LIE. Our pensions were ruined by wall street via government oversight. My pension got crushed in 2008 because Goldman Sacks sold us and everyone else a bunch of crappy CDO's that collapsed in the housing crash. Wall Street under federal oversight did FAR more damage than the mob ever did. I'm not saying that IBT was the best financial planners in the world, But hey, at least Vegas was real estate investing, still there making money.

Think about it Wide...Agreed. Isn’t it ironic that the Teamsters had the most power at the apex of corruption?
Lol!! That’s a great point.Think about it Wide...
You dont pay 30/40% taxes on unreported cash revenue.
Never seen an "escort" employee show up with a credit card machine.
Not that I personally know any.
I played in a band in Vegas before I got married and I can assure you that the cash in the slot machines, on the tables, and on the night stand never made it to the Bank Of Sicily so to speak, lol.Lol!! That’s a great point.
Oh I know the east coast music scene very well. You are correct.I played in a band in Vegas before I got married and I can assure you that the cash in the slot machines, on the tables, and on the night stand never made it to the Bank Of Sicily so to speak, lol.
It's not what you know or how good your talent is that gets you in the door. It's who you know.
And don't try to get gigs on the east or west coast without a union card. You'll pay twice. Slam dunk.
We played dance sets in a double ball room that Alan Alda cast scenes for a movie in in NYC.Oh I know the east coast music scene very well. You are correct.
You were upscale style. My scene was only rock scene. Moderate to underground clubs. What did you play?We played dance sets in a double ball room that Alan Alda cast scenes for a movie in in NYC.
Everything was red velvet in the massive dining room...drapes, table cloths, floor coverings...and the band charged $2,000/hr.
You would think the manager would have union cards for everyone in a NYC gig.
Not. He paid dearly. Cha ching.
Last time he did that.
Jazz with a rock rhythm section. Big band dance sets for the old folks (National Podiatrists, JCs, etc meetings/conventions).You were upscale style. My scene was only rock scene. Moderate to underground clubs. What did you play?
