the
ppl in charge of nukes arent necessarily rational and dont necessarily care about us

"He's got nukes! Just give the dictator whatever he wants!"

I don't think you're truly worried about Putin's use of nuclear weapons against the west. I think you're just hiding behind nuclear weapons as an excuse for your support of smaw PP dictator daddy Putin and the Kremlin.

Putin is evil.
But I have no reason to believe he is the greater evil.

Neutrality should be the order of the day. Let them fight, as they have for 1000 years.

The greater evil comes from being the aggressor. Long before this invasion Russians were constantly told the West was out to destroy them. Saber rattling kept the Russians happy. Their government was protecting them! So not a shock that Putin has high ratings at home for invading Ukraine. It's this very attitude and long experience dealing with Russians that drove Eastern Europe to seek entry into NATO.

Why was a retired general - the highest-ranking pilot to have been shot down in the war - was at the controls of a Su-25 fighter jet worth £9million.
Major General Kanamat Botashev, 63, was enjoying retirement and had not flown since 2012.

Sometimes your idiocy really is astounding. We aren't talking about American aggression. We're talking about the reasons Eastern Europe wanted to be part of NATO. Has everything to do with Russia can't resist dominating their neighbors. Has been going on since Lenin and the Bolsheviks seized power over 100 years ago. The Eastern Europeans have been dealing with it ever since. Has nothing to do with the U.S. going into Iraq or Afghanistan or wherever.

wilkerson thinks a russian invasion into the west is suspect reasoning.

NATO expanded bc it was good for weapons profits. it was always bad policy and the american govt knew it. now putin is threatening nukes bc of it. so how safe are we? the promise of NATO security doesnt hold up to reality.

With those countries spending very little on their defense just how much profit is being made by admitting them to NATO? Are you aware that Russia sent troops and tanks into Hungary and Czechoslovakia when they tried to get rid of their communist governments? That was long before they were in NATO. To say that these countries have no right to form alliances to protect themselves from a much more powerful, aggressive neighbor is ridiculous.

So pro democracy movements where people demand change are ok to be crushed by outside forces? You're always saying people should rise up, get out in the streets and protest. Apparently that's not ok with you if it's protesting a communist government that has everyone poor and miserable. Are you familiar with the name "The Iron Curtain?" Russia and its communist puppet governments in Eastern Europe completely controlled their citizens' lives. Didn't like it and wanted to leave? People had to escape over walls and through razor wire. Shot if seen attempting to escape. But you say they have no right to be fearful today and make alliances to protect themselves. That Russia still has the right to dictate what they can and can't do. It's the actions of Russia over the last 100 years that has led to the rise of the military/industrial complex in the U.S. Yeah, those companies are doing well supplying countries with the means to protect themselves. It's because of people like you who want to control everyone else and are willing to kill to keep that control.

the alliance is endangering them. we are on the brink of nuclear war. and its a hostile military alliance, not one for defense.

no im saying thats what govts do they crush rebellions by force quite often.

not sure what lead to the rise of military industrial complex...probably mixing profits with war has something to do with it LOL

US dictates what other countries can and cant do as well. not sure what kind of power russia has over the world, probably not much relative to china, and US. its not a very strong economy.

yes i know ppl who escaped east EU. ill remind you we dont have free movement of workers the way EU countries do, so we are in a sense trapped as well although not as extreme.

EU countries are no bigger than our States and they only have free movement within the EU just as we do in a much larger area with our states(or your provinces)

Russia went into other countries to crush their rebellions which consisted of large gatherings of people demanding change. And you're defending that.

Hostile military alliance? Name one time in its history that NATO attacked Russia or its allies?
