The goal of having a bigger military budget isn't to ensure your country can probably survive an invasion. It's to prevent the invasion from happening in the first place or to end it quickly with minimal loss of life to your own citizens if an invasion does occur.

Doesn't matter that Putin and his military are just a bunch of alcoholic backwater baboons. They're still dangerous in that they can still kill a lot of people.

No man, of course not. He deserves everything he wants. The Ukrainians should wave the white flag right now. Their country was a bad experiment for 30+ years. Time for Mother Russia to take back what is rightfully theirs. Time for Ukrainians to once again become second class citizens.

No, they invaded with every intention of crushing Ukraine and installing a puppet government. They're settling for the Donbas because they got their asses kicked in the interior. By the way the Donbas was majority ethnic Ukrainian before the ethnic Russians revolted and Russia came in to help them in 2014.
