THE TRUMP 2024 THREAD

I agree with you that Biden's crimes of stealing and then mishandling classified documents is bad.

And it's even worse that the investigators decided not to charge him because he has dementia.

But I think most Democrats will deny or ignore that reality. They'll vote blue no matter what, it's kind of their religion.
To anyone that doesn’t know, the investigation he’s referencing was done by a trump appointed Republican special counsel

The report concluded that what trump and Biden did was much different, and that trumps actions were worse by repeatedly lying and stalling and obstructing the process

He declined to press charges on Biden because he felt the jury would feel it was a mistake by Biden and not intentionally done, whereas the case was opposite with trump, who is on tape showing classified documents to reporters and guests and bragging that the documents are not declassified even though they should be

Also, the classified documents trump had pertained to nuclear weapon information, and is so sensitive that it is not able to be declassified by the president alone, but involves a specific process with congress involved

That is a lie.

They declined to charge Biden because they felt a jury would not convict a senile old man. Says so right there in the report.

But he's fine to be president.
LMFAO
“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Hur wrote.

I believe my representation of the quote is more accurate than yours, but that is besides the point

The report also concluded what trump did was very different than what Biden did, and that trump Repeatedly stalled and obstructed the investigation

Special counsel report concludes Biden willfully retained classified information but will not face charges | CNN Politics

Biden is running for 4 more years as President and as of right now charging him for a crime would likely be futile because a jury would see him as an elderly man with a poor memory. That's nuts.

That was the special counsels guess on how the jury might respond. The truth is republicans don’t truly believe he has dementia, otherwise they would be trying to invoke article 25 to have him removed.

They’ve done countless investigations on Biden, wasting countless amount of tax payer dollars, and they’ve come forth with no charges and no Impeachments

The Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet invoke the 25th Amendment…..

If he truly had dementia then they would be calling for it atleast is my point. But honestly, the more people make these claims, the more it helps him

The response after the Howard Stern interview was genuine surprise from so many people, because they thought a long form interview would show him to be a drooling bumbling fool, but it was the opposite

A dementia patient couldn’t give a state of the address speech like he did

Funny how you left out “well meaning”
Well meaning elderly man with dementia.

Biden stole these documents like 20 years ago.

You're saying he was an elderly man with dementia back then too?

No, obviously the report was talking in the present tense. They didn't charge him because he's a potato.

You'll still vote for him though.

What do you think he meant by using the term “well meaning” to describe Biden then?
That a jury would take into account his current state of grandpa with dementia and not convict him for his intentional theft of classified documents 20 years prior.

What do you think he meant by "willfully withheld classified documents"?

I think you know it doesn't mean this:
He declined to press charges on Biden because he felt the jury would feel it was a mistake by Biden and not intentionally done

I think you know it doesn't mean this:
Well meaning: definition: 1. meaning or intending well; having good intentions.

Yes that's present tense referring to his current state as Grandpa Joe with dementia.

They said he, past tense, willfully withheld classified documents. That's referring to the crime he committed 20 years ago.

Intentional crime.
Not a "mistake":
He declined to press charges on Biden because he felt the jury would feel it was a mistake

Not a "mistake":
“Regarding the notebooks containing classified information, Hur concluded that Biden could plausibly argue if there were a trial that he believed that the notebooks were his personal property and he was allowed to take them home. “

“Other classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center, Biden’s Delaware home, and among Senate papers at the University of Delaware “could plausibly have been brought to these locations by mistake,” Hur concluded.”

Hur’s report says the differences between the two cases are “clear.” Unlike Biden — who cooperated with investigators, agreed to searches of his homes and sat for a voluntary interview — the allegations in Trump’s case present “serious aggravating facts,” Hur wrote.

“Most notably, after being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite,” the report said.”

“Wouldn’t it be better if we just told them we don’t have anything here?” one of his lawyers described him as saying, according to the indictment.

Prosecutors allege that during the July 2021 meeting at Bedminster, Trump also waved around the classified attack plan to his guests. “This is secret information,” he said, according to a recording prosecutors have cited, claiming that, “as president I could have declassified it” but hadn’t.”
